There's something really incredible about two IPs coming together in a way that refuses to compromise on either front. Alien V. Predator, Freddy V. Jason, Marvel Vs. Capcom...it's like fan fiction done by the most meticulous and well-meaning fan out there. If you were some sort of obsessed fan of two well established franchises in America, what would you pick? Super Mario and Star Wars? Harry Potter and Game of Thrones? Dr. Who and Undertale? Well, guess what. In the early 2000's, two titans came together and melded in such a way. In some ways they had a lot in common: animation, comedy, strength in battle. But nobody could every guess what these two IPs would be: Disney and Squaresoft. What were you thinking when you heard about this game? What about when you played it, or its sequels? There's a new one of these bad boys coming out soon. Thoughts? The first game was pretty much the perfect action RPG and demonstrated that premise, plot, and characterization are not important when designing a good game.

There was a moment in KH2 where they made it seem like Goofy had just been killed and I'm embarrassed to admit it but for a second, for a tiny little moment, they loving got me. I actually wondered if this game had the balls to kill a well loved Disney character and I decided it did.

My second playthrough of Kingdom Hearts made me wish I could put everything at double-speed whenever you're not in control of the character. All the puzzle cutscenes and unskippable in-game developments really became a slog. By the time the second Kingdom Hearts had come out I had aged enough that I couldn't bring myself to delve back into those same simplistic, Disney-themed plot devices with Goofy and Donald tagging along for the ride just for an occasional Final Fantasy cameo. Maybe now it's been long enough that if I just charge my irony crystals right...

I remember beating sephiroth in kh1 at like level 40 and you were supposed to be like level 70?? His stupid soul harvest move lowered your hp to 1 and I swear he'd follow up on it really fast and kill you so your best strategy was to pop an elixir as it hit you to nullify it Fucker had like 15 boss HP bars

I am 110% sure the reason there's no Zootopia characters in any 3d games from Disney yet is that they are too worried that furries would dump all the model assets and use them to create porn.
