Uh, concession is not a necessary part of the election. The winner is chosen and power transferred through a constitutionally-outlined process. Real version: 1. Electoral College does their thing 2. Chief justice swears in next president 3. Nuclear launch codes and military/fed agency authority transfer at inauguration 4. Donnie is officially squatting in government housing.

I doubt anyone will support his bid to stay in power if he loses in 2020 and insists that he's still in charge. If he tried something like that I bet the Secret Service or some of the armed forces would just come in and drag him out.

obviously he's not gonna admit that he lost and just refuse to surrender the office, in this hypothetical situation he's gonna start twittering about voter fraud and billions of illegals and demand a dozen recounts until something gives, which if there's still a GOP majority/supermajority at every level of government he'll probably get away with but no I bet he dies or goes fully senile first his brain is loving broken

what happened in north carolina last year will probably happen on a national level- he'll bitch and moan for a month before giving up, and the GOP majority (however large it might be, it may not be that big) will pass all sorts of poo poo to tie the next president's hands

The mil would take over and force the Trump gov. out, I know this seems like a dumb take because of his current popularity with mil but; A. Supporting a dumbass nationalist is much different then letting him seize control after losing an election. B. Mil is already turning on Trump b.c. of the fed hiring freeze (it fucks over mil) and I guarentee you the enthusiasm his second go round will not be anywhere near this election.

The freeze included an exception for national security positions, but the wording was such that it was unclear if the Pentagon was directly impacted or not. Are civilian positions in the DoD a big deal?

I've got a scoop: Apparently, Trump lumbers through the white house very late at night, in nothing (nothing) but an old blue bathrobe. He has no friends he cries he eats fast food with alex jones on the phone as cnn drones on in the background. 2020. Don Lemon appears. LOSER!!! FAKE NEWS FAKE NEWS shrieks Trump as the crack of his shotgun collapses the flatscreen and wall behind it. A goblin scurries beneath them. "fake news..." "fake news...." Then Bernie comes and just gobbles Trump up whole and in doing that becomes the president right there. You heard it here first folks.

Trump did file for candidacy in the 2020 elections, but he filed for it 5 hours after officially taking office. At that time, he assumed/presumed a lot of things about the office he was inheriting, and in typical Trump style, he wanted to make a bold statement, which was "I'm gonna hold this office for 8 years, without question." With all that said, I suspect that despite the talking to that President Obama gave him ahead of time about how much work and effort was going to be required, it's still way more than he anticipated. Trump is making a lot of plays, but again I suspect that he assumed that since he wasn't a politician, he could run the country like another branch of his business. The reality, however, is quite different: massive, worldwide protests; incredibly low approval ratings; petty spats on Twitter about inconsequential/false/misinformed topics; botched relationships with foreign leaders; the list goes on if you go into personal issues, news media problems and so forth. What we have is a leader who is in over his head, and it's making his life increasingly more and more hectic. In his four weeks since taking office, he has taken four vacations, and upon one of those vacations he held a rally to effectively return to what he did best on his run to the office: campaign. Now, depending on who you talk to or which news media sources you get your information from, he is either losing ground within his own party or holding onto a strong core of supporters; neither side has made any claims that he's gaining traction (to the best of my knowledge), which means that he's stagnated, and pretty early on. He's getting more and more aggravated as time goes on, and from his viewpoint, I can see why: nothing is going as how he expected it to go, and no matter if you are left or right leaning, that statement is a fact. It is very possible that he'll decide to not run in 2020 for the reasons stated above, but there are other scenarios to think about as well: 1) He could decide to not run in 2020 if he feels his sons are doing a piss-poor job with his business (though many suspect that they still report to him or that Trump hasn't actually divested himself of his business). 2) The stress of the position may adversely affect his health, and depending on how seriously it does so, it may prevent him from running in 2020 3) The Republican party could decide that trying to win an election with Trump is too risky, and with him out of their primaries, they could try to find a candidate that will help them save face or at least find someone more apt in dealing with politics. 4) He may quit before finishing his first term out of aggravation, leaving Pence to finish it out (though I suspect he'll try to pull a George Lucas and go back to DC to "visit friends" and "offer his advice.") 5) Considering the issues surrounding Russia's involvement in the election and undisclosed tax information (both unresolved issues, no matter what side of the argument you are on) or a as-of-yet seen issue in the future, Trump could face impeachment, and subsequently could face removal from office. This scenario is even more likely if the house and senate swing to Democratic control. Well, that's my take on things, at least.

If he loses in 2020 it's more likely that he thinks that means he's done being president and he fires all of the WH staff and fucks off to Mar-a-Lago, not realizing he still has to be president until the following January. If being president remains "un-fun" for him the way this first month has been I think he'll be relieved to be voted out TBH, he already has his victory that he can wave in other people's faces for his remaining years. He can't be a loser because he was already a winner, it's everyone else that's a loser.
