I have so many things to suggest that I would almost just direct you to a couple of spotify lists I made. It really depends on what genre of music you're looking for, I suppose. Not-so-experimental but totally solid rock stuffs - The Virgins, Tally Hall, Rooney, Death From Above 1979, WE ARE TWIN, Faded Paper Figures If you're looking for something a little different... The Paper Chase, Mr. Bungle (California is my favorite album of all time), Deerhoof, The GO! Team I've been listening to more electronic stuff lately and stumbled into the goodness of BMSR and Tobacco... not everything is great so I'll link my favorite songs by both of them. Black Moth Super Rainbow - lots of good songs but this is currently my favorite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HtkhEkrk3s Tobacco - one of the members of BMSR that has pretty decent solo stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zLVnDf0W_U I have so much more to tell you. ----- |

I always side with the music I like not as "old music was better in general" but it was good bc it was "pioneering and came first, but also sounded great". Ive liked vangelis kraftwerk and tangerine long time, but new music I like just as much bc it pushes what's been built further and has the ability to incorporate more, but also it arrives at my ears first bc of my age. By techno I meant that can include 90s techno so thank you. But also, if I only listen to old music, how can my taste be sustainable? |

Oh poo poo The Orb. My favorite rave in LA is named after an orb song, perpetual dawn. That rave got me into techno. Ahh poo poo |

but with popular electronic music specifically (not being a snob, i linked a prodigy track for crying out loud) it seems like people just forgot around the turn of the century that you could make sounds with a synthesizer that are actually interesting. holy poo poo does modern "edm" sound like poop compared to literally almost anything from the '90s. |

Well yeah I mean if we're talking about literally all art created forever. Granted, I was being very general, but I'd like to think that we're referring to what's relevent now. It's not as though electronic is a classic genre. But otherwise, yeah sure, what will exist decades from now will be completely different and likely be called something else, if I understand you correctly. I suppose I just think if we're talking about the short term, what's old will be clunky but burdgeoning, what's new will be innovative but tired, and so it goes. Excuse me if I'm babbling, I'm into my sixth drink and distracted by D&D. Tell me more! |

Boy, do I miss out on some poo poo when I don't allow embedded videos. Everything else included that is. I have to wonder if there's any way we can get this onto some sort of BYOB Choice Pack in the most legal way possible so I can listen to everything offered in a most efficent, German way as Pizza intended.
