I picked up a tablet a couple months back and I've found myself using it for YouTube. Namely baking channels and cleaning tips! I never really realized how much was on YouTube. I used it for pirated comedy and music videos. So I looked and saw if there was a PYF about YouTube specifically and couldn't find anything. So what are some of your favorite YouTube channels? Especially cooking and baking! I've been checking out "Divas Can Cook," which I really enjoy despite not being a diva! The host is really bubbly. I've tried a couple recipes and have walked away pretty happy! https://www.youtube.com/user/divascancook Also "Emma's Goodies," her speech impediment is somewhat soothing albeit a bit creepy too. Her cakes made me go and pick up coconut oil and yogurt so I can try them. Haven't yet, but soon! https://www.youtube.com/user/emmasgoodies And lastly, just started checking out "Cooking with Carolyn," I enjoy this channel because the host does more than just bake a new recipe. She did one where she tried out some new pans, so the focus was on making larger batches, trying new things w a pan like dusting it w cocoa powder. https://www.youtube.com/user/CookingWithCarolyn For cleaning, I've checked out Clean My Space. I've enjoyed the tips and tricks, and the production values. Also how much can you clean your own house, drat!? https://www.youtube.com/user/cleanmyspace So hit me with your favorite channels! Give us a little tidbit about why you like it, maybe there are specific videos that hooked you! Lemme know if I can do anything to improve the OP!

Buttered Side Down http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsfO3qhfcTvcPQGd3ppBqww Surreal first person skits with no dialogue about mundane tasks. Filmed through a Go Pro strapped to the guys head seemingly. The Katering Show http://www.youtube.com/user/LeadBalloonTV A cooking show spoof done by 2 Australian women. One is alergic to nearly everything, the other is ingrained in foodie culture. Extremely cynical tone and slightly awkward at times.

Henry Phillips does incredible cringe comedy in the format of a no-budget cooking show. My Drunk Kitchen is pretty much what it sounds like. She gets drunk and cooks things. Regular Ordinary Swedish Meal Time makes food by smashing things and yelling. You Suck At Cooking teaches you to not suck so much at cooking.

Captain Disillusion is awesome. The character is a cocky alien who debunks viral videos by explaining how it's done with visual effects. Then goes deeper to explain why the video can't be real and why other explanations are wrong. The best ones are: Free Energy Devices with Beakman from Beakman's World https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sT_bTnkwLuE Cicret Braclet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbgvSi35n6o Superhuman Tape Measure Skills https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsXQInxxzBU volts5000 has a new favorite as of 14:53 on Jul 21, 2017 |

One more channel! Tony Goldmark aka "Some Jerk with a Camera". He does reviews, news updates, and vlogs about theme parks. He's also absolutely hilarious with dry humor. He and two other friends/YouTube reviewers riff the Disneyland Opening Ceremonies, RiffTrax style. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9JnjYDQ6xs Reviews Knott's Berry Farm and has fun with the with cast members. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEtBofYQLHs VLOG with his friends about the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Breakout ride in Disneyland. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuuPtCFBDyI

This guy is awesome. A big part of his videos is that he clearly shows what he's doing, but never speaks. If you need an explanation, it's all in the annotations. The only sounds are of him building whatever he's making and nature. It's really soothing, informative, and best of all it's universally intelligible (unless you're blind, sadly).

Cooking YouTube channels are some of my favorites. Maangchi was called "the Korean Julia Child" by the NY Times (she didn't get the reference). Nisha Madhulika makes vegetarian Indian food and has a nice, motherly vibe to her. Cooking With Dog is a Japanese food channel that's always worth watching even if you're not going to make the dish. Unfortunately, Francis (the dog) has been gone for a few months now, but you still get to hear his voice narrate. Other than that, I enjoy Urinating Tree's sports videos and all the stuff shown on Emmy Madeinjapan. And Red Letter Media too.

Townsends is an infectiously positive channel about Colonial American historical re-enactment, usually with a focus on 300+ year old cooking recipes and food preparation techniques. By all accounts it should be the most boring channel in existence but it all just looks so tasty

The AliExpress thread introduced me to the world of tech videos by lovable weirdos that rarely show their faces and inexplicably all have accents and their website addresses emblazoned on their tables, they tend to be low-key and run long but they're very chill and fun even if you know nothing about electronics. Big Clive is a scottish dude who works a day job doing pyrotechnics at a stadium and then makes videos showing how cheap chinese crap can electrocute you, AvE is a foul-mouthed chinook who loves weird Canadian slang and hates corpo shills, and Techmoan started out doing relatively dry consumer electronic reviews but now makes lots of fun videos about dead media formats and odd old electronics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9as5wfHV6rk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Cp-BGQfpHQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyOKgLtUxto volts5000 posted:Captain Disillusion is awesome. One of my favorite things he ever did is a presentation at a science conference where he drops the Captain D persona entirely as is still really funny and engaging at explaining how and why he does everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQrzcwsGYy8

Arcade 60fps Attract Mode isn't the kind of thing you actively watch but it's cool to load up to play muted in the background at nerd parties or whatever. Retro Pals mostly does gameplay streams with live commentary which is really hit or miss, but they still archive a bunch of really weird video game-related poo poo. Especially if you like the early CD-rom era, they have a bunch of obscure FMV titles from CDi and Sega CD and weird Japan-only stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoX6UMh5wYs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iwmdDenZwo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEONTOhRIz8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-BgRXBWcc0

I love weird\creepy Youtube channels and there's a new up and comer that covers them called The Nightmare Expo who does a good job. I don't have a ton to say, other than that it's really well done and a good way to hear about weird stuff without having to scour Youtube yourself. I actually fell asleep watching their videos last night and got woken up abruptly by a fake public service warning that North Korea was bombing LA. Scared the poo poo out of me.
