That, and a lot of windows programmers I've worked with fumble though things like tortoise instead of learning the basics of git. For a lot of people it's a crutch.

i remember when i was a kid i would use basic to get the turtle to draw things on the apple ||gs or whatever they were at the gt school i went to once a week. this was in 92. i think the turtle was called logo.

we did this on the icon, an all-canadian computer

my favourite part of that class was when the computer said "ep" when you turned it on, because the rest of it was all of the privileged kids with their own computers jerking each other off with the designs they'd made at home, the "instructor" was one of the dads in the corner talking about star wars, and i was like "i figured out how to draw a circle, yay me"
