These guys were literal traitors so why are there even confederate monuments to begin with? I mean you don't see statues of Hitler or Nazi soldiers in Germany because "its history" I get that it should be remembered and whatnot but it boggles the mind that you would build a statue and name schools after a man who committed treason and caused a loving civil war.

I can't remember which goon it was though (sorry). I did not know this previously, but nearly all these statues were put up in the nineteen teens and nineteen twenties during the literal peak of the KKK and racism, and the reason they did it was because they didn't have the technology to make an everburning cross at the time. They're literally monuments to slavery and racism. He had links and charts.
