"The real story of this movie is that at several times we see that the villains are being completely honest within the narrative while the so-called heroic characters are constantly lying to themselves and others about their supposed moral code. When we see our protagonists standing up to what they view as a force of pure evil, they themselves are doing so in defense of a existing and oppressive regime that exists only to control the masses. In the end, the only heroic figure in the movie is actually a non-title character during the battle between two relatively god-like forces for they are operating out of both self-interest and a concern for others without any regard to the political or social forces at play, while they themselves clearly represent the class that is most threatened by both these forces. It should be noted that said character is using an iPhone which you can clearly see is a clue that the filmmakers are intentionally trying to get us to pay attention and look closer to the meaning of the character having the device.
