Man, I think I must have sunk like 100 hours into this game and still didn't complete it. That post game is an absolute slog of content, but actually kind of perfect as a handheld title that you play in bits at a time. Really digging the little history snippets by the way. I'd chime in with some of my own, but that's pretty much limited to stuff that was in Samurai Warriors and Sengoku Basara. That said: quote:...That was Mitsuhide... One of Nobunaga's closest aides... This line got a pretty good laugh outta me.

I'm actually gonna go ahead and defend the post game, to a certain extent. Personally I feel like the structure of it works very well as a handheld game, particularly a DS game: You play a few turns/battles, you close the DS, you open it back up when you got some free time. It's the type of game where it requires just enough focus to be interesting, but not enough to be taxing on your mental fortitude. Makes for a nice relaxing game to play while listening to podcasts and the like. Gaining back your linked Pokemon may be one of the few things that carry over from scenario to scenario, but by no means should you discount it, being able to use fully evolved mons from the word go is a huge benefit, and it makes recruiting in the early game way easier since you can rely on quick kills or one-shot kills rather than super effective damage. It also encourages you to fully upgrade even your generic warlords since depending on how things pan out, anyone can be an early game shitkicker in the next scenario. On the negative side there's really no defending certain maps, Spectra is always the one that jumps out at me as the "aw gently caress I gotta go there?" area of the game. I dunno, it's not amazing but it worked really well for my tastes, well enough that I almost completed my pokedex and warriordex in this game, and I never do that.

Thanks for the LP and the history lessons, always great to get those together. I've already had my say on the "Post game is good as long as you pace yourself" train, so I'll leave it at that.
