I'm pretty new to the isometric rpg and this type of combat so I'm playing on Classic. I am at Fort Joy but really early on. I decided to play as Lohse and initially picked up necromancer as one of my skills lines. I wanted to play her as more of a caster and use the intellect skills from necro intellect skills (really I just thought mosquito swarms sounded like fun). I haven't decided exactly what else I'm going to do with her. Polymorph is other skill line for now for the additional attribute, crowd control (that chicken spell) and I want to pick up that spell that lets you sprout wings. My one concern with this build has been that even though they scale off of intellect the necro skills do physical damage and I would need to use a weapon that scales with intellect and does magic damage. Because of the way the magic and physical armor worked I thought it would be better to have all my damage as physical if possible. I've started off dual wielding wands that I found on the boat and figured I could use a wand and shield if I need to later. But I found a vendor on Fort Joy who has a staff (no staff on the boat) and the tool tip and wiki both say the Staff of Magus skill (which you apparently get anytime you equip a staff) does physical damage. Does using a staff and the Staff of Magus skill make more sense for an intellect necro type build? Does anyone have ideas about other skills to add to this type of build? I was thinking of adding some healing from the hydro line or maybe some of the spells from Geomancer line that do physical damage but scale off of intellect. I would appreciate any ideas on this and, in particular, whether the staff makes more sense.

You really can just go with your gut on this, since it's all kind of a moot point once you beat the cheese golem and gain access to dairymancy. At that point an optimal build becomes pretty clear (work towards Asiago) and a few minor variations in gear won't significantly impact the strength of your build.

Keoghtom's Curds is like the most broken spell in the game right now. Personally I have a lot more fun dual thresher wielding wheat ranger. I know they say speccing into threshers is a trap but once you get past the mid-game silo warrens, it's very playable.

Okay I thought this was a fakepost but I googled a few things and this thread is apparently about Divinity Original Sin 2. Dragon Commander already gave me skeleton tits, does Original Sin 2 actually have cheese magic?
