The Crystal Heart in chapter 6 is my favorite puzzle yet. I have no idea where the one in 5 could be though. I found the others if anyone wants hints.

I came home late last night but still wanted to play and decided I’d give 2B a shot before bed. Chapter 2B finished. 91 deaths. That was a satisfying challenge! edit: Just realized I have 30 more deaths in chapter 3 normal because in the story sections I keep throwing myself into dangerous spots just in case there's something hidden.

Welp. I got to chapter 2 and the "evil twin" started copying my movement. Enter room with 4 blue keys. That was one hell of a difficulty spike while I'm still failing ~30% of the jumps without that added stress. After many many many attempts that's where I broke down and had to put on the Assist mode for the rest of the chapter. This game is hard and I'm not good at precision 2D platforming.  Really nice soundtrack though!

After a long streak of playing like total rear end I got 27/31 strubbies on Chapter 5. :masterofstrubs: ...but 362 Madelines were sacrificed for the cause. I am not awaited in videogame valhalla.

For Chapter 2, assuming you saw where it is in the real world, you have to find way to get there in the dream, if you haven't it's fairly easy to find once you are out of the nightmare just explore a bit. For Chapter 3, The path to it is blocked by books but is also inaccessible if you continue forward after removing the books.

Good lord chapter 7 just blew me away. Everything about it was phenomenal The last 30 meters as it checkpointed and counted down... what a brilliant touch.

I had to stop playing because my thumb hurt. I hope I didn't just give myself a blister. I'm not great at stuff like this -- SMB was way beyond me, f'r'ex. I really enjoyed Knytt Underground, though, and was hoping that Celeste would be more like that, a series of challenges that might take a while to overcome but aren't beyond the limits of my skill. So far, it's exactly like that. "Just breathe, you can do this" is very apt. Tomorrow, maybe, thumb permitting: on to Chapter 3!

It didn't occur to me that chapter 8 would have a B-side for some reason. Fortunately the game is protecting what's left of my controller because I am far from being able to enter. Game is good.

Just finished chapter one. Died 75 times but I found 17/20 strubs and a casette? I think I missed some of the berries because I wasn't aware which decisions would lock in my route. Feels good so far. Controls are fine but take a little getting used to. Not because they're complicated, but because it's easy to somehow gently caress up the dash and R1 in the heat of the moment. I blame SMB for being more simple in its controls. I already noticed something that suggested there was a doorway out of reach by conventional means. Since I read that there are no upgrades, I'm guessing there's some sort of finesse to the controls I've not discovered yet and discovering said finesse is essentially the substitute for upgrades. If so that is clever design. Going to sleep for now but eager to continue. This is a Good Game so far.

Also regarding the hearts did anyone else notice that you can rearrange their order on the journal screen that shows you the collection? Given their weird names that all feel like lines of poetry I'm pretty sure there's gonna be some puzzle involved in arranging all 16 in a specific way edit: also the mechanics in Chapter 8 are awesome. it's really cool how they get so much extra mileage out of TAKING AWAY your abilities, not giving you new ones. It's a good one, I replayed that area over and over to get it. Ended up really appreciating how no matter what order you do the 3 zones in, they'll always get progressively harder thanks to the disappearing clutter from the other sections you cleared -- pretty clever

God @goferchan, you really powered through this if you're that far along. I got it like the hour it was released, and I've only just finished chapter 7. Going back now to get all the collectibles, then gonna tackle the rest of the b sides and see what happens. Haven't spoiled myself from the thread yet, so I'm sure I'm looking forward to some real head scratchers.

Just don't rush when you're in the section of the level (with the laundry or whatever?) where you can see the heart. Once you leave you can't get back in so explore really thoroughly

I beat the game. Extremely loving good and I can't wait to go back in tomorrow to clean up the summit and try and find that last chapter 5 berry before hopping into chapter 8. God, it's been years since a game made my hands hurt. Game's amazing enough that I'm gonna keep playing through the pain though  I "finished" the game earlier this evening, but there's still so much to do! I'm working my way through the B-Sides now. These things don't gently caress around.

People on Steam forums are reaaaaaal salty that you can unlock all the achievements etc using assist mode lol. I'm not gonna use assist mode in Celeste but I respect the devs philosophy in implementing it
