Seems like the drivers of the Indy 500 need to practice driving for a month to figure out how to drive around an oval road. Like it's not difficult you just turn left and put the gas peddle down as far as it will go. As long as you don't turn right you'll be good.

There's a lot of parts of the tracks that the cars can't go, like the infield, or into the stands where the people are. It takes weeks of preparation to understand where the car shouldn't go. Meanwhile they're reading books about how going fast cars kill people, and they're studying satellite photos of the track marked to show that the car must absolutely never under any circumstances leave the track or pit road. Then it takes another two weeks of training to unlearn all of this so the cars can be removed from the track and taken elsewhere, where the entire process begins again

Why can't they go on the infield or turn right? Fastcar is confusing.

if it's streetcar racing then they can't because their wheels have zero traction so they'd go flying like team rocket if they lost control by going on the grass

You guys are confusing nascar and indy cars, it's relatively easy to tell them apart. Just remember this: Nascar has fenders and Dales. Indy cars have no fenders and no Dales.

Btw OP you've also got to remember to keep your wheels firmly attached to your car. Otherwise this happens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMZJ3ZaEcIQ A common rookie mistake is not keeping your wheels on for long enough. Takes a lot of training.

AJ replied, "I'll tell you what the hell happened. My goddamn pit crew had their heads up their asses. That's what the hell happened out there. There's going to be some changes made around here, goddamnit."
