"It is lovely." Yvonnel said as she sipped the tea. To be honest she preferred coffee. But tea was simply the drink when meeting a fellow noble for business. Or at least for morning meetings. Any noble who did not either pick up alcohol tolerance or learning how to nurse a single glass an entire night would soon regret it.

Polite words were had, and Yvonnel waited for the actual reason she had been sent over here.

When the remaining individuals walked in, she felt some small amusement at the change in demeanor General Zhen exhibited. She suspected it was closer to the woman's true personality.

Then there was the Illithid. Well that was interesting! She hadn't had much interaction with psionic individuals. She wondered what psychic communication was like, perhaps later she could ask to speak to him in such a manner. She finished off her tea, smiling politely at the gathered group.

Please oh please let this be more than just a little errand. She thought.

Yvonnel Orlyund-Faertala

OK so she had been asked to help for her connections rather than anything else. Why not ask Sir Byrris directly?

Probably because if she did that then there would be favors owed. If the invitation came from a lower member of the House, especially one who could be argued to be on "Thin ice" as it was, then it could be seen as more "equal", people given their own opportunity to support an Ascension. It was a big deal.

But this meant it was time to call "family." (If the massive noble house could really be called a family in and of itself) This task of had been delegated to her, and once she completed it she could hopefully show the world what she could do without tea parties.

"Arin." She said to her PDA, her mind flipping through the members of House Faertala she knew in a more direct way, trying to find the right person to reach out to first. "Give me the contact information of..."

Master Lemais was not someone she had interacted with as much as her parents would have hoped. He was wise, educated, and above all of very good branch of the family.

He would be a prime person to seek out and see about moving forward. Get some support without being too much of a bother about it.

"To Master Lemais then." She said, walking down the streets.

"Good day Master Lemais." She bowed politely, ignoring the odd rituals and the creepy dogs. "I'm sure you have heard about the upcoming ascension ritual?"

A great honor, to be sure. But it would bind whoever achieved that honor with even more responsibility.

"I've been tasked to gather opinions on the canidates by Lord Diluae." Well, to be exact she was told to help Mei'dai who in turn asked for her to butter them up. "I'm to understand that a student of yours, Reyla Ariness is one of these candidates?"

She examined his face for his reaction.

What was she supposed to say? She was just a middle woman! A proxy for the head of the house for their game.

But she knew that indeed things were never just done out of pure altruism. Even though he liked Reyla he wouldn't throw his support behind her for no reason.

"Yes it's tragic that she didn't make it." Not that Yvonnel cared that much about it. This was a job, and at this point she decided that honesty was the best policy. "I was sent out to probe about support for Lady Reyla. It's a bit of a chain of requests." She sat down and accepted the offered wine. Finally, something other than tea.

"Essentially I, and others, are thinking that if Lady Evelyn has not been able to pass today's exam then Lady Reyla is the next best pick for this honor. You taught her, so in a sense House Faertala is directly responsible for her knowledge and position now. It would be a mutually beneficial arrangement, and Lady Reyla will surely feel a debt of gratitude for your wise teaching."

There we go. Essentially he and the rest of the house get to share in the prestige as long as Reyla is able to succeed on the next set of trials.

She had a feeling that she was going to be used a a proxy for paying off some favor later, but she had heard good things about Master Lemais so hopefully this would end without her being in too much trouble.

"That would be an honor." She said, and she honestly meant it. Going out on a strange new to guide their people to a new land was exactly the sort of thing she had pulled strings to get onto this ship for! If this was the favor he was asking then it would be a trivial to ask for. She finished her wine, "Thank you for your time, Master Lemais." She said with a bow. "I must be going now."

Truthfully she was concerned about what Evelyn could be doing. It would be best to keep an eye on her and mitigate any possible... damage. Or embarrassment. Or just chaos.

Yvonnel Orlyund

Well this was not quite unexpected. She had arrived to see Evelyn meeting up at a school. At least. Especially with one with the title of "Empress." Rille had talked about her a fair bit, and now she was meerting this woman in person.

"Good day." She said to Lyseithe. "It is wonderful to to be able to work on using our gifts to be able to provide for everyone abord this ship and one day an entire world." She said politely.

Taking in the comment about faith Yvonnel wondered for a moment herself. Vaetin was the diety she often prayed to, seeking srength and escape from her unpleasent situation. To which her prayers had been answered, from the looks of things.
