Surprised I couldn't find a thread for this already but figured it was worthwhile. This is for the all-time great Bits. May as well start with Pete Holmes' "nothing makes sense" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyDpS-GftCk Kevin Bridges' "Greek response to debt" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrfjDfL0fxQ And of course Bill Hicks' classic "Just a ride" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNEyLn1Zz_g Plenty more out there, so have at it.

T-t-t-triple post, but John Mulaney has at least 3 of some of the finest examples of the art form: This deserves to be in here for set design alone, but says a lot of good things about College Tuition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiqKK4ysI7g Kind of tragic for what's happened since, but pretty perfect for the time, "Horse in the Hospital": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhkZMxgPxXU Back to the Future pitch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKwMnnuN7-g And James Acaster's "British Museum" is definitely in the top 5. I've umm-ed and ahh-ed about posting this, but as yesterday was the 39th anniversary of the soviet nuclear false alarm incident, I figured I should . After Doing Quite Well in live sketch comedy for a few years, I had an idea for a solo show about how mental health, toxic masculinity, and nuclear war are all weirdly connected (and, of course, talking about Stanislav Petrov). I spent about five years thinking "hey, this would make a really great show" and never getting round to it. Eventually, I thought "gently caress it" and in 2018 booked a slot at London's largest arts festival to perform it. At that point, I hadn't written a thing. Over a few months I frantically wrote, and ended up with a show that sold out its run. The video quality isn't great, but dammit I'm posting this clip as an "all-time great" because, to me, it is! After years of putting it off, I wrote something I was super proud of, and that had people coming up to me afterwards talking about how much it resonated with their experiences of mental ill-health. That's a hell of a thing to hear. It's not as polished as some of the things posted here (obviously), and might not technically fit the remit of the thread, but god drat to me personally it's an all-time great, largely as a reminder that I can actually get off my rear end and make something when I put my mind to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pAT8MZBxGs
