There’s always value in a guy who can run really fast. Ted Ginn made a career out of it even if he only caught like 25% of the balls thrown his way. I don’t think 3 good games is enough to declare him a legitimate WR1 though.

Okay. My point was that his physical abilities made it pretty unlikely that he’d be an outright bust.

I'm gonna be real pedantic for a second but this is inaccurate—the Lions traded the Rams' 2022 pick to the Vikings along with a 2nd round pick (#34) and a 3rd round pick (#66) in exchange for the Vikings' 1st and 2nd round picks, which they used to select Jameson Williams (#12 overall) and Josh Paschal (#46 overall).

Anyway I want the Lions to pick a QB, I have grown weary of Jared Goff. Though this —

Stroud seems like an excellent prospect, Young seems worth a try, Levis is not an exceptional prospect but seems good enough to warrant a 1st round pick, Richardson is bad but he’s big and fast.

I think there are three solid qb prospects. Ultimately not every dude gets to be a Trevor Lawrence or Andrew Luck tier prospect. Sometimes a team just needs to roll the dice on a good qb prospect and do the best they can.

Stroud in particular seems weirdly underrated mainly just because he’s not a dynamic mobile threat.

Eh, no one knows anything anyway. The 2018 and 2021 draft classes were supposed to be historically good and they produced duds like Baker, Darnold, Rosen, Zach Wilson, and probably another obvious flop or two or three when the dust settles. The 2017 and 2020 classes weren't particularly hyped up and ended up being much stronger. Winston, Goff, Mariota, and Wentz all went #1 or 2 overall. Etc etc.

i said in the NFC South thread that Levis feels like a guy who has a pretty disappointing college stint but ends up somehow having a successful NFL career but he could just as easily be Josh Rosen 2

Ornery and Hornery posted:

Anthony Richardson is a big and fast quarterback who can't throw the ball at all, but he also never actually tucks the ball and runs with it, so he's a dual threat that isn't actually a threat on either axis

and Hendon Hooker who you didn't mention is decent but he's also 45 years old

Richardson is just not a QB, full stop. He's a big fast guy, idk make him a TE or something.

Between Young, Stroud, Levis, and Hooker I don't know that any of them are inspiring but I think I'd roll the dice on Levis. He's got the tools, he's performed well at times, and I'm going to convince myself that he didn't look better bc Kentucky went through 3 different OCs in his time.

To stop shitposting for a moment (and ONLY a moment): I think Levis is definitely a better prospect than what his stock appears to be right now. His team was injured and bad, he’s never had consistent coaching as you noted, and he had to play against a high level of competition. That said I am still not blown away because he hasn’t really shown flashes of greatness. He’s a fine prospect and should go in the first.

But I think Stroud is clearly a tier above Levis.

^^^^ yep, that makes sense. for the bucs tho, assuming they look at QBs, id rather roll the dice on Levis over stroud but i don't think either will be available by the time they pick anyway
