Zaurg and Blue Story are the BFC legends. There was the griefing thread which is sagas-like. https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2886637 Took a bad turn before being shut down, if I remember correctly. And then Walking Across America is fantastic and on the relatively short side, I think. Fingat is still my favorite.
