There is an enormous difference between the Spurs when they drafted Duncan vs now. That Spurs team already had David Robinson, and Duncan was a 4 year college player. Wemby is also at a height where the Spurs might consider transitioning him much more slowly so he does get hurt. Duncan’s transition to the NBA was always going to be smoother.
