Bad EXP received

We're nearing that point where HP growth goes a little insane. Despite being only two levels ahead, Eight's HP is nearly twice Jessica's. She'll eventually hit that same jump, but until then it's a little precarious.

Eight also gets his next Sword move. Metal Slash deals normal damage to non-metal slime enemies, and deals 1-2 damage to Metal Slimes.

The normal range is 0-1, so this is a rather large increase.

In the horizon are the reasons I'm here in the first place: monsters; chests.

Magic dumbells like the Dingalings before them call for hlep.

In this case, more magic dumbells.

They can also attempt to curse.

This is really satisfying to see, if you can't guess.

Here's that monster that was on the horizon. It's somewhat tough and hits somewhat hard.

Its biggest asset is that it's the only monster avialable at the moment that can cast Multiheal.

It's a bit more than Midheal, but as the name implies it affects multiple party members.

Such recovery isn't enough to save him from the party, but it can give the monster team a little more gas.

It costs 10 MP a cast. Spike never gets more than 35 MP. His HP and Attack go up fairly well from levels 26-40.

Man these islands are just full of new guys.

Hoodlums are relatively plain and the only one of these guys here open to Whack.

Bomboulders aren't too tough, and they aren't dangerous like the Rockbombs before them.

Instead, they're tedious.

Kerplunk has a 100% chance to revive all dead allies at 100% HP.

It fully restores all living allies' HP too.

BUT... AT WHAT COST?!?

Revived monsters give EXP when killed again. If only there were a situation where a Kerplunking monster were with a metal slime, and that me positing this situation didn't mean that I am foreshadowing that one exists extremely blatantly...

Oh, sweet, the robo-robin dropped a nail. 1/16 chance, there.

I make a second Thief's Key rather reflexively. Normally I'd need this for alchemy - the key itself is an ingredient, you see - but for this LP I am going to embark on a little side-thing I don't normally use.

There's another monster on this peninsula, but it's dumb and useless.

If Squiggles is the worst monster, it's not without competition.

That's not using your puppets, that's casting a spell. Fucker.

OH NO THE WEED HAZE WAS TOO DANK FOR EIGHT

Never mind go back to the spellcasting please.

A new hat!

It's 5 points stronger than the Slime Crown, so the crown gets to sit precariously in my inventory until it gets used in the ultimate armor.

Or maybe the sword.

What do you think?

Not quite the Mumboh-Jumboe but it's certainly got an interesting color scheme.

And it can destroy Yangus at an unprecedented rate.

Magic Dumbells can do this if eight of them are in the same place. One that's already their can react to a different one calling an ally and use this.

It increase their attack and defense a fair bit.

But not enough to save them.

See Angels have better healing than See Urchins, IIRC. King Squids are big blobs of HP and attack.

They are hilariously open to Whack, though.

This is an island with nothing going for it except there are treasure chests.

HOW DOES IT FEEL, EIGHT?! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO HAVE YOUR TRICK USED AGAINST YOU!?

Jumping Jackals do this, or they use a fairly damaging Wind Sickles.

Oh that's disappointing. With Gold Golems at Neos and Alchemy tricks out the wazoo money is not that hard to get at this point.

I suppose every bit helps since I'm going to bankrupt myself twice over.

Zoomin' away to get to a better disembarking point. It's usually Peregrin Quay.

This item on the north-center of the world map is another important one.

We last saw him in update 17. He disappeared and we've been trying to catch up since.

"He behaves enough like a demon to 'ave one, but I s'pose 'e is 'uman at the end o' the day. At least 'e's got that goin' for 'im."

"And here wea re at Savella, ladies and gentleman. To your left you will see the great cathedral. ...Or was it to the right? Well, you can't miss it, anyway. Tall building, nightmare to heat! We were forced to memorise reams of useless information on each of the 'trinity of sacred sites'. But that's the end of the Angelo tour, I'm afraid. It's my first time here, too.

By the way the camera's facing right now, it would indeed be to the left, fyi.

"We're hot on your heels, Dhoulmagus! You won't get away again!"

It took like twelve levels to get to 60 skill points and a new thing from Scythes.

It's not quite Stainless Steal Sickle, but we're 8 points from that. So, so close...

You know, this would be a bigger deal if I couldn't get dozens from the casino.

Robo-robins do this at low HP.

It's not quite Kamimaze because Eight stayed in one peice this time.

So many goobers on all these islands.

Is it a comedy-based shock move?

Oh, no, it's my cameo. Hello!

(I must be loving ripped to hit that hard)

NEXT TIME: we rummage in the pope's dresser.
