e: ^^Damnit. Daerot Kalaar, Wood Elf Seeker|Ranger Born into a family of farmers in rural Karrnath, Daerot grew up like most kids of his standing do: lots of work and precious few time to play. His family instilled him with pride of the realm, loyalty to their lord and their king, and reverence to the Sovereign Host. As he grew older, Daerot became a bit rebellious as many young lads do. After one beating from his father too many, he decided to run away from home. Of course, this was a spur of the moment thing and not well planned at all. Not knowing where to go and without a plan or supplies to survive, he signed up for the army when he met a recruiter on the road. As you might have guessed, the recruiter was travelling the countryside because what we now call the Last War was fast approaching and the king and his generals were hungry for recruits. Daerot was assigned to an archery regiment, the Falcon Talons. During the months of basic training, he found out that he actually had quite a talent for archery and - through the words of both his fellow recruits and his officers - that the world was not quite as simple as his parents had taught him. The Last War did its part in changing the cheerful, optimistic, and somewhat naive farmboy. He did grew jaded over what he witnessed, developed a quick wit in both words and action, and donned the armor of cynicism to shield him from the worst of it all. One day, when they were travelling from one front to another with some other units, an enemy force outnumbering them many times descended upon the Karrnathi. The Falcon Talons were shattered and Daerot barely escaped with his life and his crossbow. He made it to some woods where he hid out until the war was over for two months. He was discovered by the forresters of the lord off whose land he had been living. Faced with the charges of deseration and poaching, Daerot was faced with a choice: death or Bastion. He chose to take the This turned out to be a good decisions. While often slighted as a deserter, his superiors recognize his skills with a crossbow and in the woods. Faced with something of a perspective - a career in the Watch - and making new friends here, Daerot's cynicism began to retreat. Now he's a confident and competent watchman both on the walls and on patrol, happier to be there than most of his fellows, but still armed with a sharp wit and the rest of his cynicism that can get him into trouble from time to time. At Trier's request I've swapped roles, same character with the arcane bodyguard concept reworked to more of a time-keeping Psion lab assistant. I hope you like Slows and AoEs! I also asked Trier and he's let me change the Oozemaster's Acid Damage/Resistances to Lightning. Sudden Slime becomes Sudden Spark and Acid Resistance at Level 10 becomes Lightning Resistance at Level 10.
