Executive experience for a Presidential run, no Senate seats currently open, doesn't want to be gov yet (either cuz daddy issues or the fact IL's budget is a smoking crater. Not that Chicago's is much better but it has potential at least).

Not that Chicago's is much better but it has potential at least). But it's such a terrible city to be in charge of. The bad financial decisions before you make it impossible to have a successful run. Any change you want is going to go up against a machine that's been in place for generations. Just seems like a really lovely gig with no upside.

I just think it's tough to be in charge of a city that is completely broke and create a positive spin for yourself with it. How do you become a likable Mayor either cutting services and/or massively raising taxes? It's a no-win situation.

Let alone the social / racial tensions, plus decades of cops torturing people offset by high crime rates. It would suck to be mayor. In other news like thirty people are lining up for that AG primary. Kwame is already saying stupid stuff and Burke is circulating petitions for his daughter.

Even if they find a stash of gold bars under city hall that can pay off the massive debts, some cop will get caught on video throwing out the n-word and beating someone half to death.
