Alloy Cannon in XCOM. Best gun. Ethereals could reflect lasers and plasma back at you, but not white hot shards of super-dense alien metal. On my first playthrough I one-shotted the final boss with a 32-damage point-blank critical. Suck my boomstick, aliens.

Blame lovely gamers for that. Shotguns are pretty drat deadly weapons way beyond the range most games depicts them as having. In games where the true power of the shotgun is unleashed gamers whine like little babies because their tactilol crap is crap in comparison. Dual 1887 supremacy.

I once ran out of AR ammo shooting a sniper across blood gultch in Halo for PC. My secondary was the shotty. I headshot him and murdered him. From the spawn base while he was up in the cliffs. Shotties own.

also people online get super mad when you kill them with shotguns, even in games where they aren't that powerful and you can kill people with an assault rifle in 2-4 shots across the map

Confirmed: All the EYE shotguns are good in their own ways. Betty Boom is a short range low-weight boomstick, the CAW hammer is a longer stick with bigger boom storage that booms more quickly, and the Depezador is a long, black boom-tube with a lotta range also, shotguns are great because of a thing called "meatshots"

Started playing Blood again. Still get an incredible feeling from repeatedly using both barrels on a wave of zombies. Heads popping everywhere. Is that the first game where you select between single and double barrel fire? It was for me.
