CRT is the only way to play these older systems; it was fun watching everyone trying to play FFX HD's lighting dodge mini game on flat panel/hdmi displays and failing miserably

there will probably be some company that makes new crts because nerd bitches will spend millions of dollers to have a display that's as fat as they are

CRT's allow me to play such superb titles as Revolution X, Point Blank 1 and 2, Area 64, and House of the Dead with an actual light gun and not a controller.

Who the gently caress plays a light gun game with a controller?

Do you have to plug the console into a SCART switch and then output to a SCART to RGB cable?

get solder with flux in it :p

SPACE HOMOS

Yeah most solder you buy has flux in it. Just get a cheap soldering iron that is relatively low heat and a solder pump. Use the iron on the spots you want to solder to heat it up and use the pump to remove it. Then put your wires using the iron and new solder. A good solder joint should not be a giant clump or bubbled out.

If you do this I recommend using some heat shrink over the ends of the resistors going to the wires.

If you can still see the PCB then you're clearly not using enough solder.

your solder joints should look like bb's for a solid and lasting connection

Once you are done soldering make sure to cover the whole thing in hot glue to make sure the connections won't go anywhere. When in doubt use more hot glue.

Once you're done with that then reassemble the console and plug it into the TV to see if it works.

Cannonballoon

good call on the hot glue

also make it look like the glue was applied by someone with parkinsons for that stringy bird nest look
