Part of Everything posted:True sociopaths aren't really capable of any emotion, because they lack the capacity to actually feel it. If he's shown anger/fear/nervousness/happiness it's doubtful he is one. So where is this "true sociopath" you speak of.

He is an excellent story teller and will fashion incredible lies to obscure those moments. Even though I know about some of these instances, and he knows I know, when I make reference to them he will without any hesitation go into pretend mode. This is just a serial cheater thing, not a sociopath thing. It can be really weird to watch it happening; suddenly your friend who's living with their SO is referring to them as a "roommate" with a perfectly straight face and it's like "oh, ok, I guess we're all just pretending you're single for the night." I'm sure it's pathological somehow, but unfortunately not unique to sociopaths.
