Some lawers in Canada have gone and done some things. If you would like to make them rich and get yourself "at least $20" fill out a claim on their website. https://themoneyismine.ca/ You do not require proof of ever purchasing hardware to get 20$. However if you are like me and keep every reciept you could get a little more.

Their FAQ says you don't need any proof for claims under $40 ( https://themoneyismine.ca/faq#faq15 ). Unfortunately the only thing I bought between 1999 - 2003 was a PS2, and I can't bring myself to lie about another electronic device.
