Homestar Runner posted:Broncos signed UDFA WR Matt Miller out of Boise St, a guy who reportedly can do things like run and catch, and now faces the truly titanic task of beating Andre Caldwell out of camp (who can do neither). Finally! Hallelujah!

MechaFrogzilla posted:Per Field Gulls, the Seahawks have already signed 14 UDFAs, and still counting. Boyers is apparently a former Special Forces guy, seems like he's probably more of a PR signing. Apparently, the Seahawks also signed TE Ronnie Shields, Kentucky (6'5 254). He was a four year player (and very occasional starter) who totaled 15 catches for 114 yards and 0 TDs in his career. He's a very good athlete who just never did anything in any game ever. Joker Phillips spent two years talking him up as a breakout player and Mark Stoops never had anything to say about him, other than moving him to the big slot position in 2013 and back to TE for 2014. Good luck to him, I guess.

Other Kentucky UDFA signings: RB Braylon Heard (5'11 198) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Heard transferred to Kentucky from Nebraska because he was stuck behind Ameer Abdullah. He sat out as a JR and looked like he would set the world on fire as a SR. In his first game as a Wildcat, he had 2 carries for 116 yards and 2 TDs against UT-Martin. Unfortunately, he sustained a high ankle sprain on the second carry (got rolled on just before the end zone) and was limited for the rest of the year, although he only missed one game. Heard is very quick in short spaces and has adequate top end speed. He can do very well in a zone scheme because he presses the heels of the OL and reads very well. Very limited production in his entire career, only has 150 carries or so in 4 years. Could be a good change of pace guy, has very good hands. WR Javess Blue (6'0 191) - Green Bay Packers. Blue was a JUCO guy in Mark Stoops' first recruiting class. Was productive as a JR (43 receptions 586 yards 4 TDs) despite having Maxwell Smith and Jalen Whitlow attempting to throw him the football. Coincidentally, also sustained a high ankle sprain in UK's first game of 2014. Lost some short area quickness as a result and struggled getting off of press man coverage, ended up moving to the slot. Had a couple of highlight catches this season and produced well despite the early injury. Finished 2014 with 29 receptions for 525 yards and 5 TDs. Lots of speed and great athleticism. Probably my vote for UDFA most likely to stick in the NFL. WR Demarco Robinson (5'9 157) - Cleveland Browns. Robinson was a 4 year player for UK. Tiny guy that doesn't have blazing top end speed but very quick-twitch. Did OK as a punt returner and is probably limited to that role in the NFL. Decent hands, good routes, improved attitude. Played a little slot in the Shrine Game. Very little chance of sticking with a team, in my opinion. OG Darrian Miller (6'5 307) - Cleveland Browns. 4 year player for UK, 3 year starter at LT. Best OL on UK's team for 3 years, which says a lot about why UK was 9-27 those years. Played out of position at LT because he has decent athleticism and punch, but doesn't have the length or athleticism to play LT in the NFL. Is not strong enough and doesn't have enough leg drive to play RT anywhere. Could be a developmental OG if he improves his strength, may have a chance to stick. Tried his hand at snapping leading up to the Draft, wasn't bad.

49ers have 8 UDFAs so far: QB Dylan Thompson, South Carolina OL Patrick Miller, Auburn OLB Marcus Rush, Michigan State WR Dres Anderson, Utah WR Issac Blakeney, Duke WR Darius Davis, Henderson State WR DiAndre Campbell, Washington WR DeAndrew White, Alabama Rush, White and Anderson have a shot. Everyone else is probably a camp body.
