I remember these. Back then I had no idea what demo authors looked like so based on the scrolltexts and the badass music, I assumed they were all cool-as-gently caress guys drinking lots of alcohol and getting into drama wars with rival groups. Seeing demos like these made me realize that it was mostly awkward male teenagers who were goofy as hell.

Red Sector came out with a "demo maker" where you could script and tune a standard library of effects and then save the result to its own bootable disc. It caused some drama at my high school when some students made some demos with it for a programming project, and passed it off as their own work.

I remembered Odyssey the other day. It was a 40 minute demo with a storyline which I thought was cool at the time, but watching it again it's atrocious

I didn't make the spaceship, that was aTom (who did almost all of the non-procedural gfx). I only made the nebula-flight scene

it was Titan whatever, the diablo clone thing. they had this cave you had to go through and the game would simply crash when you went through it.
