I'm possibly moving to Reno for work in the next few months and wanted to get a goon perspective on what it's like to live there; I'd be bringing my job with me so that isn't a problem. If it matters I'd be leaving from Long Island, New York. - What do you like about it? - What do you hate about it? - Is the legal prostitution a weird thing and does it draw creepy people to the city? - If you don't mind sharing, what's your rent look like? - What things would you recommend doing while down there? - Are there any places you wouldn't recommend going? Or any other information you'd feel like sharing.

I've only visited Reno but Reno is close to some very pretty parts of this country. Edit: Have you been to Atlantic City?

It's basically all the sadness associated with chronic gamblers but without the conspicuous wealth that Las Vegas has. I also believe prostitution isn't legal in Washoe county. If you like the mountains it's a great place to leave.

Move to Reno if you'd date this city: Likes • Suburbs • Dry heat • Desert hippies • Fox News • Unnecessarily large trucks • Decent skiing • Lake Tahoe • Sad people at slot machines smoking cigarettes • The color brown • Drought • Walmart and Costco • Casino organized events • Wind • Pretty sunsets • Keeping green lawns in 100°F, 0% precip. weather Dislikes: • Most forms of culture • Healthy music scenes • Nightlife • Public events • Seasonal weather • Reading
