 i was reading some article about how horrible fontconfig is and the author mentioned something about japanese fonts. i never really considered that those people would have different fonts for their funny squiggles but apparently they do. i just thought that there was one set of standard glyphs defined by unicode or something that was always tacked at the end of real fonts just in case someone sets the language on their pc wrong. i guess if you're actually able to read whatever mumbo-jumbo is being written its possible to tell the difference between different fonts but hosed if I can tell. im just glad i'm not the person that needs to write all sorts of exceptions into my text rendering library to handle text that is drawn in the wrong direction.

What I found interesting is that anti-aliased small Chinese fonts cause some people headaches, even though the characters are easier to read. Much like YOS POSting.

those Arabic logos with the heaps of letters and poo poo... wanna know if there is a English equivalent when I whent to Egypt I learned the Arabic numerals and realised we get charged more! it's almost as if foreigners with hundreds of much wealth as the locals should pay more for the same Internet cafe
