I've finally convinced my office to get some type of off-the-shelf, web-based job tracking system. We'll have about 10 users, and we'll mostly track graphic design and video projects. Looking for something simple - individual user accounts, task assigning, e-mail alerts, project notes, milestone/deadline/job start date entry, the sort of stuff any creative project needs. It's been a while since I've shopped around for one. Anyone have any recommendations on good ones to check out?

I find basecamp clunky but it will do the trick if you can get buy in from the team Heard good things about Trello

It's not so good if there's hundreds of tasks, or each task gets a lot of notes, or you need detailed burndown charts or heavy project management type stuff. Individuals and small teams tend to like it because it's friendly and easy to use. A cynic might say it's not much better than having a bulletin board with a bunch of notecards on it. At the other end of the spectrum, JIRA's a giant all-singing all-dancing tool that requires a lot of configuration and a lot of buy-in from the team but can accommodate whatever weird-rear end requirements you want to throw at it. Management types tend to like it because it has a lot of goal tracking and reporting functionality. A cynic might say that it's unnecessarily complex so that Atlassian can sell training courses.
