nonono, according to the patent he invented a stick with a wheel in it which has lights on both ends which automatically change color depending on which direction you are going.

good lord is that comically easy to design around. ofc the Chinese company didn't even bother trying but still.

cool things that would be nice 2 have:
control oven temp/timer and get notifications from oven
get notifications for complete cycles from washer/dryer/dish washer
turn lights on and off based on programmable criteria
turn heat on and off based on programmable criteria
why would any of that be useful or cool

Still better than android clock

oven notification: it makes a noise
dishwasher notification: it stops making a noise
lights off criteria: i don't see anybody in here
lights on criteria: someone says "hey i was using that"

also turning on a 450° box sight-unseen is an objectively good idea that is certainly not dangerous to anyone

also it is a useful thing to do in anticipation of food being put into the oven later, somehow

Looks way cooler than those stupid hoverboard things though, and it can go like 6 miles @ 15mph, so maybe useful for a commute. Plus it could fit in my office where a moped cannot.

But yeah I can buy a car for $1500.

you know what's a faster and cheaper solution?

a bike

These OneWheel guys got the Federal Marshals to come to CES apparently to shut down the Chinese company making literal exact knockoffs of their cool board thing.

I'm glad they did that, because then I heard of it, and it looks super cool and fun. However it costs $1500 and lol I'd rather buy a moped for a third the price.

However, that cheap chinese knockoff is probably like 80% as good and costs 30% their special American version and is on Alibaba. Is Alibaba legit still?

Oh sorry also a link: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-01-07/u-s-marshals-raid-hoverboard-booth-at-ces

I rode on a prototype of one of these at makerfaire a couple of years ago and it was hard as gently caress to stay balanced.
