i upgraded to windows 10 on my gamebox and it went really well which was a surprise because the upgrade to windows 8 hosed my system the only thing that wouldn't work out of the box was my xbox 360 controller. great job ms seriously windows driver discovery is so loving bad

I sat down in front of the office desktop in my home and said "you know what, I'm gonna upgrade to Windows 10 today" mostly because clicking the volume icon in the taskbar hasn't worked in 6 months for some reason and I can't figure out how to fix it. I upgraded to Windows 10 and hooray, I can adjust the volume from the taskbar again. Except now RegEdit refuses to open (got it to open once and it immediately froze) oh and also, my PC no longer goes into sleep mode (all the fans still spin, the power LED never flashes like it should); I tried messing with a million different power settings, unplugging all my USB devices to see if that would fix it, and nope; the computer simply refuses to go into sleep mode. Reverted back to Windows 7 and sleep mode works perfectly  oh and regedit too.Microsoft's forum topics and replies on the matter were particularly useless; many others with the same problem and everyone gets the same canned response. By the way, "format and reinstall" is still seen as a solution in the year 2016. Who knew. TL;DR: The upgrade went fine on my laptop; on my desktop sleep mode and regedit no longer function. What a time to be alive.

OP i moved all my compys and all the office compys over the windows 10 the second it was pushed to me with delight and glee and it has been working great ever since with no bugs or errors.
