savinhill posted:drat, this show getting cancelled is such a bummer. There really isn't anything else like this show on right now, and even when they had elements that might sound cheesy on paper, they somehow made em work most of the time. This show just made for such an enjoyable and addictive blend of intrigue, big battle & kung fu action, great characters I was totally invested in, and a unique historical setting. Too bad it had to go, I think it just suffered bad timing and luck with it's release and initial promotional campaign, and a lot of people just wrote it off as a low quality Game of Thrones type wannabe without ever giving it a chance. I suggest giving Medici: Masters Of Florence a try. It is also a on Netflix and stars Robb Stark. A completely different time and place, but it was able to scratch the itch I have for "Ye olden times political intrigue" for me. Not so much big battles or kung fu however.

I watched the first episode and it's okay, except for it's utter disregard of linear time. The opening scene is confusing as gently caress as it cuts back and forth between a funeral procession and a different scene where the guy in the funeral eventually dies. Also lol at "20 years early" and everyone looks exactly the same so it's very difficult to tell which scenes are happening when. Still like that dreamy Robb Stark stare, and will keep watching.

But how does it compare to Jon Snuh?

I can agree Season Two was not on par with Season One, but it was still decent TV. But hey, if it made $200million loss, I can't really blame Netflix.
