My heart can't take much more of this. But given that they basically laid out where the climax of the show was going to be like five or six episodes ago I guess it's no surprise.

Huh, I thought this (12) would be the last episode but it's not. First half was pretty rough though, gonna watch the latest Momokuri to offset it.

The material for the first half was essentially the sole reason I was interested in the anime adaptation, and the execution of it was outstanding, especially the animation & direction as compared to what happened with earlier episodes. And I imagine everyone watching the episode a few minutes in suddenly went 'oh nooooooooooo'

I'm still only on 9, I've been banking the episodes so I can watch everything left in one go.

It's like ripping a bandaid off: better to do it all in one go so the pain doesn't last as long.

Luckily, Kakeru's too stupid to have the obvious thoughts of "Wait... you all just pitied me? Naho, did you ever even like me or was this all just playacting", etc.

I was worried about this too. :ohdear:

Last episode aside, what's this I hear about a movie about Suwa's point of view? Is it going to be an epilogue or...?

Here's the latest.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-09-25/orange-time-travelling-manga-gets-anime-sequel-film-written-by-creator/.106877

"Like the upcoming two-chapter manga that the original manga's creator Ichigo Takano is launching in October, the movie retells the main story from Suwa's point of view. It will also tell the story after the original manga and the television anime, and therefore a story not told anywhere until now.

For the movie, the television anime's cast is returning along with the staff, and Naomi Nakayama is now serving as chief director."

This was a good show, occasionally bumpy production and all.

(Spoiled just to be on the safe side...)

The ending happened pretty much how I thought it would. I figured Kakeru finding the phone was always going to be a fixed event, but the key difference between this timeline and the original one was that he knew he could turn to his friends for help, and they would be looking out for him. In the OTL it really looked like he didn't have anyone to turn to--there was that scene where he told his Tokyo friends that he was suicidal and they all just laughed it off, for instance.

This was probably one of the most "human" shows I've ever watched in any format. It's easily in the running for my AOTS, maybe even the year.

I really thought that Kakeru was going to off himself in this timeline, too, and Naho and Suwa would get together, just with better knowledge that they had done everything they could. Sort of similar to how things might have wound up if Kakeru had gone home the first day of school.

Probably my AotS also.

I watched like four episodes of this and really really liked it but never came back to it. Glad to hear others enjoyed it all the through! I def try and finish now since I'm not watching anything this new season.

I was really expecting Suwa to have stronger misgivings about the whole 'give up on his future marriage' thing, but no, the man is simply a saint.

Also, fantastic character moment for Naho just straight up ignoring Ueda.

But wow, this show was quite a ride regardless and will probably be on my list for best of the year.

I just now had a chance to get around to finishing this.
I'm happy with out it turned out. The show did a good job of making me actually wonder how everything was going to play out in the last episode, the future not changing seemed like a legitimate option.

I did have similar thoughts, but I'm not going to hold it against the show.

I honestly thought the ending was going to be that he kills himself BECAUSE he finds out about the letters.

I don't know, it seems to me that it would do some good to find out that your friends think your life is worth rewriting reality to save.

Finally found the time to watch the last two episodes today. Boy, episode 12 was pretty hard to watch. :smith: Also, I really wish they hadn't actually put their dumb theory for how they were going to send the letters back in time in the show. :argh:

But still, that was a good ending. :3: And also:

Finally.
