I think the long con stuff was pretty OK, but in the end not nearly enough to make it worth sticking around post sleeper. I don't know when nevets flipped, but yea. I mean, Lion's head is obviously dumb as hell, but even without that. e: I think you have to do something to give Cylons some extra actions to make conning worthwhile. It doesn't matter if you have a great pick of supers if you're potentially only going to get one turn post reveal, etc. Still, great game though. Thanks to Cocks Cable for modding! That's the first time I've seen Lion's Head Nebula used to clinch a solid win. Well done!

That was super boring In terms of moderating, I did not like Double Secret. It's a lot to keep track of and hope to remember. I also felt like it didn't add anything to the meta game. Humans still played ridiculously pro-human to the hilt even when they had a chance to screw themselves over later in the game. I think there is something wrong with Defcon and how it interacts with Pegasus and 6-player setups as seen in other games as well. Engine Room is too easily gamed as a sure bet. And it really speeds up the game when humans should be juggling 5 different options and priorities. No Sympathizer doesn't feel as balanced anymore. Some minor resource loss and extra cards don't seem to make up for the extra human turn.

Meat! Meat! Meat! Yeah we were never really hurting for cards until the end, the only play that made me paranoid was Roslin sending 3 damage towards damaged Pegasus and Adama picking Fuel Planet though the bonus fuel ended up paying off. Lion's Head was the second destination so even a last launch scout wouldn't have screened that out. I think having six players takes a lot of the bite out of double secret, having 2:1 odds of being human that quickly became 4:1 after a jump really pushed me towards playing pro-human as possible. Thanks for running that Cocks. MetricUnit fucked around with this message at 20:05 on Aug 31, 2016 |

I flipped when Pegasus took the first hit. So I stayed hidden for a little while but the most sabotage I was able to do was lie about having XO's that could have got people out of sickbay. In retrospect I should have hard revealed on my second action from the XO, rather than waited till my turn, but I didn't think she'd get lucky and get an arrest warrant from her OPG. I might have posted this before, but I think the best way to encourage deep cover play is to: A) Give unrevealed cylons more ways to spike checks and B) Provide them some more cover / scapegoats This could be done by increasing the opportunities for TRE draws and by forcing players to contribute to checks. For example: You have to play at least 1 card into the crisis you draw on your turn, or else move to sickbay. Any check that results in a negative total has every human draw a TRE.

The destiny deck already consists of more cards though, so that helps a bit. Re: Engine Room: I think the main thing here is that Defcon makes it so you can easily tell when you're likely to hit a Cylon Attack, so that's the moment when you go for it. More generally I'm noticing that Cylon attacks are blunted quite a bit by the CAG being able to pick one of two options. Usually one of them is bearable, you maybe lob a nuke at a basestar if needed, and a pilot remaining in space between jumps covers the civvies. Most of the time they don't seem to present too much of a challenge, from what I've seen in the past few games. Not sure what can be done to counter that though.

I generally agree with all of that. I believe the CAC picking is mainly there to justify the CAG title. If you take that away, the CAG doesn't do anything meaningful.

maybe just delete the engine room and make pegasus only a three space ship. having it at all is already way pro-human

How does Pegasus fly around with out an engine room? I already feel bad for the poor souls on a Galactica with no airlock.

Or you could just say that the engine room doesn't work on CACs, or you have to discard more cards, or a certain value of cards. Like, you can only use it if the total value of the discarded cards is at least 10.

Sink Pegasus, move the Airlock to Galactica, put Pegasus' guns on Galactica instead of Weapons Control.

Here are the triggers. I was a bit worried that the cylons would never come out but it actually worked out rather like a normal game. We had 1 cylon (Adama) in the first round of the game and the 2nd cylon (Ellen) shortly after sleeper. I wanted the triggers to be more meta but none of the common stuff seen in other games happened in this one...for some reason. ==> Nevets (Ellen) + 3 or more different TRE cards are found in Crisis Skill Check. ++ Pegasus is damaged. ==> Parsifal (Seelix) + A player posts only memes, smileys, or gifs (no other text) and another player quotes it and responds with only memes, smileys, or gifs (no other text). ++ Distance 7+ is reached. ==> Trasson (Cottle) + A player gains 1 mutiny card and then four or more human players have 1 Mutiny Card. ++ A player plays an Executive Order on the player directly next or one after that in turn order. ==> Gwaihir (Adama) + A human player (mistakenly?) plays a negative non-zero skill card into a Crisis Skill Check. ++ Three consecutive turns pass with out playing an Executive Order. ==> MetricUnit (Starbuck) + A player activates the Airlock or Admiral's Quarters and targets a human player. ++ A player misses the 12-hour deadline and is auto-resolved. ==> tarbrush (Roslin) + A player activates the Research Lab. ++A player requests a hand check within 3 hours of another player requesting a hand check.
