It never stops.

After Hours is underappreciated. It's just a fun movie.

I also want to point out that Martin Scorsese is a tremendous supporter and patron for film preservation. He started The Film Foundation, World Cinema Project, and a few others to fund and save films. The Film Foundation helped back the restorations of The Red Shoes, The Night of the Hunter, All That Jazz, Hitchcock's silent films, The Apu Trilogy, The Leopard, early films by Kenneth Anger and Stan Brakhage, and even Scorsese's own The King of Comedy. Not to mention a bunch of lesser known world films.

It's just neat that such a prominent filmmaker does so much to protect the work of other filmmakers.

Goodfellas is a top ten movie of all time. Casino and The Departed are in the top twenty for sure.

I thought Wolf of Wall Street was one of the best movies I had ever seen and I wish it was a miniseries or TV show because 3 hours was too short, not even exaggerating.

If you haven't seen it, do it now.

Wolf was a better gangster movie than Goodfellas. Casino is pretty awesome, but when Boardwalk was good (Seasons 3 and 4 iirc?) it was the best.

OK, so within the universe of the film, is this down there by the wall the same person as the guy in the backseat of Travis' car who wants to kill someone? Or are they twin brothers? :raise:

Casino is the best scrubs. That soundtrack...

EDIT: Also Hugo rules pretty hard for a kids movie. Definitely worth watching even for adults.

Same guy. Maybe his wife works in there.

Or if you want to go full insane fan theory, his real name is Henry Krinkle. Travis used the name so the police would stop him from murdering his wife and her...

Yeah, if you want to spray your shirt…with documents!
Scorsese directed doc worth watching, I could listen to this guy tell stories for days.
"American Boy: A Profile of Steven Prince is a 1978 documentary directed by Martin Scorsese. Its subject is Scorsese's friend Steven Prince, best known for his small role as Easy Andy, the gun salesman in Taxi Driver. Prince is a raconteur telling stories about his life as an ex-drug addict and a road manager for Neil Diamond. Scorsese intersperses home movies of Prince as a child as he talks about his family. When talking of his years as a heroin addict, Prince tells a story about injecting adrenaline into the heart of a woman who overdosed, with the help of a medical dictionary and a Magic Marker. This story was re-enacted by Quentin Tarantino in his screenplay for Pulp Fiction. Prince also tells a story about his days working at a gas station, and having to shoot a man he caught stealing tires, after the man pulled out a knife and tried to attack him. This story was retold in the Richard Linklater film Waking Life."

Basically. Tarantino makes extremely watchable pulp, which seems to be exactly what he wants to make so good for him.

The biggest problem with The Departed is that the original movie from Hong Kong (Infernal Affairs) is better. So much more charm. And less whitebread Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg

Every goon should be mandated to watch "The King of Comedy" as part of their registration requirements.

Also "Bringing out the Dead" is very underrated, even if it's very obvious why it isn't considered top-level Scorsese.

Ahaha! Not Scorsese, but I recently watched Three Kings for the first time and I went through the whole film thinking Mark Wahlberg was Matt Damon. Wasn't until the following day when someone corrected me did I know better.

Thoughts on Scorsese films I've seen;

The Big Shave - One of the best student films and it's really obvious Scorsese was into Kenneth Anger's films at the time.
Mean Streets - Awesome. Harvey Keitel is underrated as a great actor.
Taxi Driver - Perfect.
The Last Waltz - Just a lot of good music beautifully shot.
Raging Bull - Leave it to Scorsese making a beautiful, humanistic film about a piece-of-poo poo boxer
The King of Comedy - Scorsese should do more comedies with DeNiro.
Goodfellas - MASTERPIECE. I could watch this forever on a loop.
A Personal Journey Through American Cinema - Marty talks about important American films for 3 1/2 hours. Great for a good starting point on films to catch up on.
Gangs of New York - It's alright, though Daniel Day-Lewis is perfect.
The Aviator - Awesome. I love how the color changes throughout the movie to match the time period.
The Departed - I think it's a terrific film, even if It's not one of my favorites.
Hugo - Scorsese does a fun kid's movie and lecture on early cinema. One of my favorite films.
The Wolf of Wall Street - I saw this while having a 102 degree fever from the flu, which is how most people should watch it.

(I've got Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Casino, and Shutter Island somewhere in storage; Boxcar Bertha on my DVR)
