I like where you're going with this. My concern is that it'll be really tough to get an apple flavor that can punch through all the dark bitter roasted flavors of a porter. Maybe a Salted Caramel Porter, or Toffee?

I'd drink the poo poo outta that

I wanna drink that right now and then forever. Dad Breakfast is the beeessssstttt name btw. Should we consider designing a label?

Standard label size is 4" tall by 3.5" wide

You should get that looked at

When I think of a label I think about the kind of stuff dads draw and write. For mine it was "all capitol letters on graph paper"

The beer came out so delicious. I have a beautiful picture of it actually.

We've sold a ton of the kits and people love the name. The piwo is maturing a bit right now and is about to be put on the sample tap next.

The goofy copy I wrote about it: This recipe is the answer to a question we asked ourselves, "Is it possible to make a beer that tastes like dunking a honey-glazed doughnut into coffee?" Heavy additions of specialty and crystal malts give this English porter a deep and complex taste with a restrained roasted character and bitterness. While we call it Dad Breakfast, it can be enjoyed anytime of the day, and not just by dads!

We used East Kent Golding and Challenger for the hops.

Nobody can snag a case, just free 3oz samples until it's gone. Its an open recipe though.

5 Gallon All Grain

6lb 10oz Maris Otter
13oz Honey Malt
9oz CaraAmber
6oz Brown Malt
5oz Coffee Malt
5oz Carafa II

Mash at 145 for 15, 153 for 30, and 158 for 10. Sparge at 168

1.25 oz Kent Golding @ 60
0.3 oz Kent Golding @ 15

Wyeast 1028 London

Dry Hop w/ 3oz Coffee for 2-3 Days

And mash in with doughnuts if you want to give it good karma. Add 1/2 lb rice hulls if you do to soak up the mess, and make sure to iodine test before you mash out.

Beer
2 cloves garlic
1 medium yellow onion
3 ribs celery
½ lb (3-4) carrots
1 large (3/4 lb.) chicken breast
1 whole bay leaf
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried thyme
freshly cracked pepper
4 cups water

Hops
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ Tbsp dried parsley
6 Tbsp cold butter
¾ tsp sugar
⅔ cup milk

Bring the beer to a boil and simmer for 60 minutes. Remove the chicken, shred, and return to the pot. Add 1-2tsp salt to taste.

Cut the dry hop ingredients together in a bowl and add in chunks of cold butter with your hands. Once the consistency resembles damp sand add the milk and stir.

Drop the hops in by the heaping spoonful and continue to simmer for 20 minutes. They should look expanded and moist on the outside, but trust that the insides will fill your interior emptiness with light flaky goodness.

Serve hot.
