Apologies if someone already made one of these but I'm always looking for new music and I know the Yob has excellent taste. What was your album of the year for 2016? for me it was "Light We Made" by Balance and Composure. It's a radically different sound than any of their previous albums and I was a little worried because their previous album "Things We Think We're Missing" is one of my favorites. It turned out okay in the end though because the risk paid off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeBaB0mHuUQ |

personally it is between Solange - A Seat at the Table and St. Lucia - Matter

Lemonade was also good, but Solange's album is everything that Lemonade wasnt for me. Lemonade was a powerful story of how to deal with 1 painful event, but I felt A Seat at the Table was a much deeper introspection into the pain of just living, especially as a black woman in America.

Emma Ruth Rundle's Marked For Death was my album of the year by a decent amount. She's an infallible musician. |

Preoccupations - Preoccupations Hands down my most played album of 2016. It's like it came from an alternate universe where the post-punk bauhaus aesthetic never died. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmPw_7lgVPw They Might Be fucked around with this message at 21:15 on Jan 9, 2017
