UNGH LET ME LICK THOSE BOOTS DADDY HULU ;-* ;-* ;-* YES YES GIVE ME ALL THE CORPORATE CUMMIES :shepspends: :shepspends: :shepspends: ADBLOCK USERS DESERVE THE DEATH PENALTY, DON'T THEY DADDY?
WHEN THE RICH GET RICHER I GET HORNIER :a2m::a2m::a2m::a2m:

Problem description: When plugged into AC power, my Acer Aspire R (convertible laptop) acts like it's being touched by multiple fingers constantly. You can see the little "halos" that appear when the screen detects a touch, like 10 of them, several times per second in random areas of the screen. Problem persists even when disabling touch input.

Attempted fixes: Updated Windows 10. Updated drivers. Hard / soft reboots. Turned off touch input - touch inputs still continue. Used external mouse / kb. **Problem does not happen when running on battery power, only on AC.** I've tried different power strips and different outlets, no change. Run a virus scan, nothing detected.

Recent changes: None.

Operating system: Windows 10 w/ latest updates.

System specs: Acer Aspire R5-471T. Model N15P6. Purchased refurb about 5 months ago, it's worked perfectly up until yesterday. The refurb only had a 90 day warranty.

Location: US

I have Googled and read the FAQ: Yes. Nothing I could find online about this issue.

I guess my next step is to buy a new AC converter unless anyone has another idea?

edit: Correction to above, I had not disabled the touchscreen. The function control for disabling the touchpad is very similar in appearance to the disable touchscreen button. Now that I've disabled the touchscreen the problem has gone away. I'd still like to find a fix though.

Yea, you could try another AC plug etc.

Another option would be to drain the laptop battery completely if that hasn't been done lately.
