Grognan posted:Was when I was eight at church because helping all people was pretty dope. In seriousness, first time I thought about it was in 8th grade civics class. The civics teacher (in a public school, the irony was lost on him) was a libertarian who was voting Bush in for a second round in 2004 (I believe). He described capitalism, communism, and socialism, but not so subtly would hint the first was best of the three. I remember instantly thinking socialism just kind of made the most sense. This was the same teacher who was absent one day and made us watch a documentary followed by the question "Is America #1?!" Honestly though, he was a decent guy and I liked him despite his stupid and contradictory politics. Nichael has issued a correction as of 09:01 on Jan 15, 2017 |

For reals, breaking down crying during a mormon youth project that told me how the charities help the poor people broke me on podium into repeating "we can do more, we have to do more"
