Cool visuals. Better than expected. ScarJo wasn't half bad. Dropped all the existential philosophy though.

6/10

Good SFX, Good background and costume design, ScarJo was good as the Major, okay soundtrack

No philosophy expanded, pretty poor dialogue, bad pacing, introduced characters and never did anything with them (or vice versa (the sniper)).

Didn't feel like a gritty Cyberpunk film, felt more like Crayon-Cyberpunk tbh

A solid film that was far better than it had any right being. ScaJo manages to pull off playing a character who is very much not at home in their own body,

I feel like this movie misses the point of the original entirely, especially when it comes down to the visuals or the scene-by-scene shots they replicated. Still, it felt like it was a very solid flick on its own, and if that condition is filled then I don't really care about the adaptation material. All jokes aside, would have been a 4/5 for me if only it had used Yoko Kanno and Origa's soundtrack. It would have been a match made in heaven.
