I have a (pedal) bike I'm trying to sell on craigslist and it's just not getting any bites.

I'm thinking of hosting a garage sale where the bike is the only thing for sale at full retail. Creepy garage sale hoarders come out, they have to buy it because they are obsessed with buying things, chisel me down to 50% of my "price", boom, sold.

Yeah I guess I have a Gov-lok in the truck. All the clunks and unexpected traction and/or oversteer suddenly make sense, I thought it was the transmission's impending death and weird road conditions.

Now to instantly negate that, in the 16 years I've been wrenching I've mostly purchased/owned 160k mile plus Japanese cars. A twelve year 92k Outback is the newest thing I've ever owned. I've never replaced any more than badly need suspension parts, like bad ball joints or a grinding wheel bearing or strut mount. I've never replaced a shock or strut.

I just replaced everything on my truck. Holy poo poo, it makes a difference. I'm going to have to start replacing struts on everytging now.

It loving blows people's minds when I show them the rpo codes sheet. But then they want me to decode it all and I cry a little.

It's more fun when GM uses similar codes for similar things... like keyless entry w/remote start prep package (AP8)... and keyless entry w/remote start (AP3). AP8 means the vehicle has everything required, except for the fobs that have the remote start button, and remote start is toggled off within the BCM. When you order the remote start kit, you get new fobs with the remote start button, a AP3 sticker to affix over the AP8 sticker, a code for the installer to use with Tech2 to toggle remote start on, and instructions for the dealer/"installer". It takes them all of 5 minutes to enable it, assuming they take a smoke break.

And how much extra does that sticker, changing fobs for ones with an extra button and 5 mins of work cost the customer?

If I get into bed before 11:00 I feel like I have given up on the day. With the newborn and my wife not getting much sleep (because I don't lactate like she can) I have been going to bed earlier. It usually involves me just laying in bed waiting to fall asleep.

I used to make fun of a friend of mine because being out after 9pm was a late night for her, and she would try to schedule "brunch" at like 8am on Sundays. Now I find myself going to bed earlier and earlier on the weekends and being lucky to sleep past 9am. Still waiting on my metabolism and rest of my body to realize I am over 30, but I hope I can continue being a lazy gently caress and eat what ever I want without gaining weight to continue as long as possible.

That night we performed the rite and opened the gate.
Halfway through, I went to fix us both a coke float.
By the time I got back, he'd gone insane.
Plus, he'd left the gate open and there was evil everywhere.

I had to go to bed at 8 last night as I was just exhausted from a busy week. Most of the time I stay up until 10-11 but if I get one of those weeks it is time for a couple of early nights.

I've heard of that kit running $100-150. I'd imagine labor would be whatever the minimum labor amount is at that dealer (1/2 hour to an hour).

So probably 200-300. :argh:

My wife's Kia needs new struts, after 160K miles. At least one is blown, because it's doing that rolling thing when you hit a dip, where one corner pitches more than the rest. My RX-7 did that, and, as you say, it was amazing with new (well, used, but good Tokico blues) struts.

This is pretty much how they do cruise control, too. the stalk is all the hardware that's needed, since everything is DBW, but you need a GM tech and programmer to enable it in the ECU.

edit: you get your new AC compressor in yet?

You shared it with a dick.

Interesting twist, last night I found the email chain where I confirmed in writing my schedule with my manager (now fired). It took place one week before I was hired permanently, so the schedule was in place from the beginning. I also have 8 weeks of contractor time cards showing 5 hour fridays that were all approved, by who I don't know.

I doubt it'll make any difference but I might write one final appeal letter and see if it does.

The stupid thing is that I don't want to make a big deal out of it. I don't want to be seen as a bitchy troublemaker. But this is the problem when the decision makers don't know their employees very well, you only interact over things like this. I haven't ever caused any trouble, I meet my deadlines and my work is high quality. I just want flexibility that makes my life easier in return.

Oh, and they hired a new manager a week ago who said he doesn't care about schedules as long as we work our minimum 40 hours and get things done. Then on wednesday he was the one who told me I can't have my schedule anymore. So obviously the owners told him to do that.

Whatever, still gonna start a job search.

Lloyd, that's extra dumb on their part. In bigger cities, companies are often given tax breaks if they allow flex scheduling, which is largely a half assed attempt to alleviate rush hour traffic.
