Im looking for good difficulty mods for older games, specifically ones that balance games that are otherwise way too easy without adding tons of dubious stuff. basically stuff along the lines of ff6 brave new world which i thought was really good. not really interested in "hardtype" mods that just mess with the numbers and stuff

nnot the same but theres a super metroid hack tht rotates the whole world 90 degrees thats cool. theres another one tht randomizes item placement thts fun, but kind of boring after a bit

Zelda 1 randomizer brought a sense of adventure back to the game I've beaten 100 times. If you aren't very familiar with Zelda 1 don't play it obviously, but if you are just create a chaos mode rom and go to town. https://sites.google.com/site/zeldarandomizer/

oh yeah theres a really cool romhack for ff5 tht creates basically the ancient cave from lufia 2. you cn only get equipment and jobs from chests and its all randomized. theres some encounters that are kkind of bullshit hard for people who havent memorized all the game mechanics but otherwise its real cool. ive got the links somewhere if anyones interested
