So the premier SPs on the market this offseason are Darvish, Arrieta, Cueto (if he opts out) and Tanaka (assuming you don't think he's an injury risk)?

If you just got traded to Houston at this moment in time where are you supposed to live

It isn't Atlantis. Parts of the south side are perfectly fine and have had power for days. It's the northeast side that got hammered.

On another note, apparently part of the reason the Britton trade fell through was Colin Moran's season-ending injury. He was one of the O's top picks for the trade.

Tanaka has to opt out before you can wonder if he's an injury risk (he has looked much better in the past 2 months or so)

Older and more expensive, and also probably going to decline pretty sharply given his age while the Astros are still paying him. But yes, in terms of making a post season run this season, he's better than Quintana.

I know Detroit as a city is on the rise, but I'm amazed that after so much talk about how Kate Upton would force Justin to go do a bigger, better city, he ends up in a place that has less healthier water than Flint.

He only has two years left and only gets a third if he's really good still. Spending 56 million over the next two years is probably better than signing Darvish or Arrieta long term.

Considering the prospect haul the Astros gave up, I'm not sure how the Cubs were realistically in the running.

My reading of that is they weren't but Verlander was holding out for it hoping they'd up their offer or the Tigers would blink.

Tigers are sending 8m per year so 16m total. No idea if it kicks up to 24m if his option kicks in though.

Feels like a good move. Defensive replacement for Happ in the late innings and can do some pinch running late. The September roster expansion makes for some weird baseball sometimes.
