I've been looking to see if there's some kind of dumbed down, cheaper equivalent to an Occulus Rift/VR headset that I can use to watch movies and stuff through by simply plugging a hdmi cable into it from a computer.

There's obviously a bunch of cheap novelty poo poo that does a bad job but is the product i'm looking for out there?

Or am I better off just getting some kind of VR headset, even if i'm not really going to use it to its full potential?

If you're having problems you're either holding the phone wrong or you have tiny girl hands.
Get a phone VR thing

Yeah I looked into that stuff but I need something that can take hdmi input from my laptop/computer.

Only thing that looks decent is Vuzix iWear HD which is £100 less than a pre-owned rift from ebay (Obviously there's a risk in buying pre owned.)

I suppose that's what i'll end up going for if there's no alternative.

So just to be clear here you wanna sit in your room, strap something to your face, and pretend you're sitting in a different room to watch a movie on the computer that is in your room. And you're willing to spend several hundred pounds to do it

Nah, I just liked the idea of watching stuff in bed without having my heavy laptop balanced on my chest or having to hold up a tablet for hours at a time (Yeah, I know it's not a herculean effort, but still)

Plus it seems as if It'd be an immersive experience.

Edit: I suppose there's always the hobo option https://www.amazon.co.uk/niceEshop-...2AYK5RNXF73A6H4

Laying in bed with a vr headset isn't going to be comfortable either lol

I am lonely and spend most of my time on 4Chan talking about the superiority of BBC porn.
