I dont think the Yankees are some lock juggernaut. Tanaka could be gone (probably not), CC could and is old, there's still unstable spots in the lineup as shown with the offensive dry spells this postseason, and young players are unpredictable. But it's an awesome young core that no sane baseball person expected to knock off the defending AL Penant winners and take the Astros to Game 7 of the ALCS. It will be a fun winter and spring of expectations and hot stove. Good series, good team, congrats to Astros and their fans. Best of luck in the World Series. Good luck against them to your Dodgers, Intruder. I have a Brooklyn hat you can borrow.

YES announcers on TV saying how the Yankees shouldn't buy any of this "exceed expectations" and "bright future" stuff because they made deadline trades to win and failed. Sometimes I hate being a Yankee fan.

Meh, both can be true. They have a bright future but they also were up 3-2 and faced a terrible pitcher in a game 7 and the lineup took a crap. This was a bad loss even if the season was good.

STAC Goat posted:He wasnt even terrible 5 days ago. Eh, I mean, he kinda was. But mcmagic logic is that if a pitcher has one bad outing, no matter how great they are, they are terrible and have retroactively always been terrible and will continue to be terrible. Which makes every pitcher who has ever played the game terrible, so we're on an even playing field.
