Gunshots ring out in the distance, like urban birdcalls in the Barrens. Angry shouts reach you from the apartment two rooms over, and you can hear what sounds like two trolls having sex from above you. In the darkness you bring up your comlink, AR display lighting up your view. The usual drek on the news, same old corporate shtick. You turn over and try to ignore the noise when you see a message from your fixer. Looks like you might be in for some work... Welcome to the shadows chummers. Maybe you were born in a rathole in the barrens. Maybe you had a golden spoon when they popped you out of the robotic womb your parents paid for. Doesn't matter now, you're all in the same boat. You're a criminal, a paid one with a code. A Shadowrunner. This is a recruitment thread for Shadowrun 5e. I've never GM'd the game before, only played, but there is a first time for everything. I'll be running it via Discord PbP. It'll be a little new/different than most games, but we'll work it out together. Why Discord? Forum PbP is usually very slow, especially when it gets into combat. With the ability to ping people and an integrated dice bot, we can actually get somewhere instead of taking a year to get past day 1. If you apply, I expect you to be able to post once a day. Even if its just a minute of effort to keep the ball rolling. That said... Character Creation CGL is a piece of poo poo at editing and their rules. If you've read the books you'll realize a lot of it doesnt quite work. So houserules. I'm lazy, I'm not going to list out a bunch of houserules. Instead, I'm stealing them from here. https://neosynth.net/index.php?n=Rules.HouseRules For alchemy I'm using these rules. https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadowrun/comments/3v1thj/i_fixed_alchemy_who_else_is_shocked/ Arcana covers the Artificing skill. Disenchanting is gone. You can ignore most of that until actual gameplay, however pay attention to the banned/changed qualities. If you want one of the banned qualities, we can talk about it. Try to have or be able to roll 12 dice for any skills your role will be using. And even if you're the big dumb muscle you'll want at least 3-4 dice in Etiquette and Con. Otherwise you're going to have a hard time when someone asks why you're there. I advise using Chummer. Everyone will have a mutual fixer, 3/2. You don't have to give yourself another one, but multiple fixers are not a bad thing at all. Fixer can get you a lot of things, but they have to find and call people to get it done. Having a street doc you know and calling him when your buddy is bleeding out is a lot faster than waiting for your fixer to find someone. No shapeshifters, or non metahumans. Aka no pixies with assault cannons. Forgot to mention, but this will be priority Recommended reading https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pNZTfFJPUUxXUzd1sq58_fzC13gmjQnr8H68eTwJMlk/edit https://docs.google.com/document/d/1g_2x6q2vLnNdeDNlL04iXfBYFcrEtHRXx6Ep-BsElUo/edit https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JMQsturNpJIoEDzqt8hj11W0w4olbLF7lLIn-2JECoM/edit The Campaign Itself We'll start off assuming you have all done a run together before. The game sets off in Seattle, with a call from the 3/2 fixer offering a job. After we complete the job, things will be a more freeform. Want to just set up a heist? Sure. Or go kill some gangers, rip off a mafia shipment of Ares Alphas. Maybe you see about buying/setting up a club. Become a fixer. That kind of thing. Generally, I'll try to do a run and then let everyone do a solo thing before going back to another run. Or hell ya'll might decide to become priates, whatever floats your boat. As a final bit, let me know if you're not okay with adult themes. The 6th world is not the most happy place. Sometimes you may end up selling people into slavery, or worse. Or maybe everyone just goes full Pink Mohawk and strikes a blow against the man while riding off free into the sunset. I'm new at this and haven't tried this before. I'm reserving the right to terminate this after a month if its just not working out. That said, I hope it does work out. Resources Chummer Chummer is a free character generator for Shadowrun 5e. I highly recommend it. There is the paid option, HeroLabs, but thats $100+ to get all the books. Make sure to go to Tools > Options, and add in the other source books Rules Reference Bunch of PDF's with rules references. I linked most of these in the discord already but feel free to download them for yourself. Finally, I have the discord link right here. Feel free to hop in and ask me questions or advice or whatever. I'm usually able to respond quickly, but sometimes it takes time. Quornes fucked around with this message at 13:31 on Nov 23, 2017 |

Scaredy Cat knocks politely on the door before gently pushing the splintered mess off its hinges, cringing as it slams against the apartment's concrete floor. He whistles as he examines the ceiling, walls, and really everything in the cramped living room ahead of him. "Didn't know there was this much blood in a body. Or is it more than one? Oh, hey Winny!" "Richie." The mage spits. It doubles as an expression of her distaste for him as well as a futile attempt to get some blood out of her mouth. Winny doesn't budge from her position on the gore-plastered couch. "Call me Cat now. Bad day, huh?" "Something like that," she deadpans. He can see a massive ball of mana swirling around the index finger pointed at him. "You working?" "For Johnny, yeah." Cat cautiously puts his hands up. "I'm your cleaner!" The concentration of mana disperses. "I'm fragged." The mage rolls her eyes and slouches into the couch. "What, PI work not paying the bills?" "Mmm. Something like that!" Cat chirps, producing a couple of paper charms from his jacket. He tosses one to the floor, where it evaporates in a cloud of embers. Half of the blood in the room vanishes in a similar manner. "KE seemed to think that I was threatening their market share, so I had to disappear. The Gianellis hooked me up with someone that could burn all my records, and now I make a living helping out the people I used to hunt down. Like you! Real spiteful stuff!" "Where's your friend?" Cat freezes in place and frowns. He shakes his head sadly and lays a charm in Winny's lap. "Haw, you and your dead partners. Every time! ... Sorry." She clears her throat. "You think KE had something to do with it?" "I know they did, but I'm not dumb enough to fight that war." The third charm goes down. With a few additional waves of his hand, the room becomes absolutely spotless save for the splintered remains of cheap fiberboard furniture. Cat squints as he examines the astral signature of the area and quickly changes the subject. "You know, you really need to be careful about how hard you're casting. I might be amazing, but I can't clean up domains!" "Yeah, yeah. Hurry it up." "I'll need, like, a whole minute for this. Or two, even. Maybe you should work on your astral sight so you can clean up your own messes. And don't worry, we have time." He waves dismissively. "Response time in this neighborhood takes for-ev-er. There's no cameras around. Plus, they're probably all arguing down at the station about who's going out, then they have to get fully dressed out. And that's assuming that the operator didn't eat the report, or that someone even called them in the first place! It's a bad neighborhood." "Yeah, I heard that some mage just walks around the place and turns people inside out." "Woah, for real?" "Cat." "Wait, I get it. Can't think and clean at the same time! Haha! Hoookay, done! Let's go!" He ushers the mage out towards the street, dropping his last charm in the entryway for good measure. pre:Name: Reiichi "Richie" Clouseau Alias: Johnny 9 Fingers (Fixer), (Connection: 3, Loyalty: 2) Fixers have a lot of irons in the fire, but not all of the irons are good. Some of them leave grossly unacceptable messes behind, even by Barrens standards. Johnny gave Cat a call on Martin Gianelli's recommendation, and he's been on the short list ever since. Jack Goldblum (Police Chief), Renton (Connection: 3, Loyalty: 3) Chief Goldblum was Cat's supervisor while he still worked for Lonestar's forensics group. He had worked the beat for longer than anyone should before finally moving into the office, and it showed: he knew most of the old crows in town and wasn't shy about working outside the system when it was slowing him down. Turning a blind eye was also part of his MO. He jokingly referred to it as prioritizing. After Cat had been framed for tampering with evidence and subsequently fired, Jack was the only one to stay in contact. Martin Gianelli (Mafia Consiglieri), Bellevue (Connection: 4, Loyalty: 2) Normally it's a bit of a stretch for a made man to recruit an ex-cop, especially considering the risks involved, but mages are rare, and magical cleaners are even rarer. Who wants to learn to clean up blood better when you could shoot fire from your eyes and lightning from your rear end instead? Martin is a good-humored ork with a penchant for grim dad jokes and cheap booze, and he was the first to extended an olive branch to Cat after he was chased into the Barrens by a KE-backed hit squad. "Kitsune" Takeuchi (Talismonger), Touristville (Connection: 2, Loyalty: 2) There's a narrow little cobblestone road that leads off the big market in Touristville; it's easy to identify by virtue of being the only area that's not saturated by neon lights. Once past the buildings, it opens up into a cozy little Shinto shrine complex, complete with a garden. It's a miracle that anything can grow back there, really. Cat volunteers as an attendant there when there's time in between work. There's one way in and one way out, and Kits runs the gift shop at the front. She's an elf that looks to be roughly Cat's age, and it seems as if she always has a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. The self proclaimed head shrine maiden is incredibly crass and prone to impatience, though she has managed to keep the little area cleaned up and running despite being sandwiched between a brothel and a very obnoxious tourist karaoke bar. She keeps the actual magical stuff in storage in the back. The complex has a reputation that Cat has yet to really figure out, but it's common knowledge not to mess with the area. Kits likes to think she's the one keeping the peace, though it's more likely one of the rougher volunteers that often hangs around... pre:THE PICKET (from closest to farthest): 3m Motion Sense ??m Scent 20m Radar (when active) 30m Magic Sense 60m Detect Enemies (F2, Focused Concentration) disguise infiltrator mysad with a bunch of magic utility, very centric on keeping the team out of trouble, can shoot things, and Atlatl fucked around with this message at 21:54 on Nov 30, 2017 |

Chummer crashed halfway through making a character lol, just a quick question from a PnP noob... should you try to make a character that is somewhat like yourself? On the one hand it seems kinda lame to just try to insert yourself into the world, but on the other hand you would be a more effective player if you were talking about things you actually knew something about.

King (Marcus Valentini) Ma was a junkie. Started out with Bliss, ended with BTLs. She went out for a trip one day when I was 6 and never came back. My father said she starved to death in one of those fuckin' parlors, and that was the last time he ever mentioned her. Can't blame him, she was an embarrassment for him. Antonio, my dad, he was an enforcer for the Gianellis. Actually, they were the Bigios at the time, Don Joseph hadn't taken over yet. Anyway, the fact that he couldn't keep his own house in order didn't impress anybody, so he never climbed the ranks. Right after Don Gianelli took over, dad ate a bullet down by the docks in a scuffle with some gangers who thought they could muscle in on our turf. I never cared for my old man, but nobody kills family and gets away with it, so I tracked down his killer and asked him to kill himself, nicely. He hesitated, so I did it for him. I'm generous like that. That was a couple years ago. At the moment, I'm one part enforcer, one part interrogator for the Gianellis, but I'm not going to end up like my dad. I won't be a nobody choking on his own blood in the middle of nowhere. I want money, I want power, I want respect, and being Awakened, I've got the tools to get it. When I speak, people listen, whether they want to or not. 'Course, work for the Gianellis doesn't pay well enough on its own for me to get to where I deserve to be, so I'm branching out. I've been running the shadows for a while, and so far it's paying off big-time. Got this slick suit off the nuyen from my last few jobs. Cost me a couple months rent, but hey, you gotta dress for success. And I intend to be very successful. I'm gonna retire to a life of luxury where nobody tells me what to do, or I'm gonna die trying. Contacts Johnny 9 Fingers: I heard about him from a friend of a friend when I was first starting out; he came highly recommended and he's never failed me so far, so he's my fixer of choice. Janice O'Brien: She's a human, ex-shadowrunner. She patches up Gianelli boys and doesn't ask questions. In return, we make sure nobody fucks with her or fails to pay for services rendered, that kind of thing. I've helped her out myself a couple times and taken advantage of her services a couple more times than that, so we're on a first name basis. She's right on the border of Renton, which is good, since nobody wants to drag a wounded metahuman too far through Renton. That's Humanis territory, and just because they're not a full-on hate group doesn't mean they won't try to kick your rear end for being on their turf, mafia or not. Vigo Blascowicz: He's this spooky dwarf, runs a talismonger shop out of a backroom in a dive bar in Puyallup. So far all I've ever paid him for was information, but I was thinking about picking up some foci next time I'm swimming in nuyen. Still, he's real creepy. Nobody messes with him, and all the locals think he's a secret bug shaman. I don't know if I buy that, but he's definitely unsettling. "The Eagle": Y'know those information brokers you see on the trid shows? Mysterious, shadowy figures who you can only contact through an elaborate series of dead drops and code phrases, and when you go to meet them it's just a shadowy figure on a computer screen? The Eagle's one of those guys who desperately wants to be one of those guys, and he's really not very good at it. He's the stupid kind of paranoid and his opsec could really use some work. I know he's an elf and I know he lives somewhere in Seattle, which is a lot more than a real infobroker would let slip. His info is usually good, though, so it's worth it to put up with the unbelievable pain in the rear end of arranging a meeting with him. The Gianelli Mafia: Along with the Finnigan and Ciarnello families, we're a part of the O'Malley syndicate, which is run by Dona Rowena O'Malley. Our own Don is Joseph Gianelli, who took over in 2070 after Don Maurice "Butcher" Bigio bit the big one. He's what you'd expect from a Don; he got where he is by being smart and by knowing just who to kill and when to kill 'em. His Consigliere is Cass D'Amato. Rumor has it she's got her eyes on the throne herself, but she and the Don both have too many supporters to risk moving against each other openly. It'd rip us apart and Dona O'Malley would just scoop up the pieces, so for the moment it's all quiet at the top. My Capo's Hubert Cassini, and they're still finding pieces of the last guy who made fun of his name washing up around Seattle. The Don's a human, Cass is an elf, and Capo Cassini's a troll. pre:Name: Marcus Valentini Alias: King Ork, M Movement: 6/12 (2m/hit) Swim: 4 (1m/hit) 220, 6'6" Composure: 9 Street Cred: 0 Judge Intentions: 10 Notoriety: 0 Lift/Carry: 7 Public Awareness: 0 Memory: 7 Karma: 3 Nuyen: 295¥ Age: 24 Skin: Tan Eyes: Blue Hair: Dark Brown Primary Arm: Right == Priorities == Metatype: A Attributes: C Special: D Skills: B Resources: E == Attributes == BOD: 4 CHA: 5 AGI: 3 INT: 5 REA: 2 LOG: 3 STR: 3 WIL: 4 EDG: 4 MAG: 6 == Derived Attributes Essence: 6 Initiative: 7 +1d6 Physical Damage Track: 10 Rigger Initiative: 7 +1d6 Stun Damage Track: 10 Astral Initiative: 10 +3d6 Physical: 4 Matrix AR: 7 +1d6 Mental: 5 Matrix Cold: 5 + DP +3d6 Social: 7 Matrix Hot: 5 + DP +4d6 Astral: 7 == Active Skills == Con (Fast Talk) Base: 5 + Karma: 0 = 5 Pool: 13 (15) Disguise Base: 5 + Karma: 0 = 5 Pool: 10 Etiquette Base: 5 + Karma: 0 = 5 Pool: 13 Gymnastics Base: 0 + Karma: 1 = 1 Pool: 4 Impersonation Base: 4 + Karma: 0 = 4 Pool: 12 Intimidation Base: 1 + Karma: 1 = 4 Pool: 9 Leadership Base: 5 + Karma: 0 = 5 Pool: 13 Negotiation Base: 4 + Karma: 0 = 4 Pool: 12 Palming Base: 5 + Karma: 0 = 5 Pool: 8 Perception (Visual) Base: 3 + Karma: 0 = 3 Pool: 8 (10) Pistols (Semi-Auto) Base: 6 + Karma: 0 = 6 Pool: 9 (11) Running Base: 0 + Karma: 1 = 1 Pool: 4 Sneaking Base: 5 + Karma: 0 = 5 Pool: 8 Swimming Base: 0 + Karma: 1 = 1 Pool: 4 == Knowledge Skills == English Native Italian Base: 0 + Karma: 2 = 2 Pool: 7 Area (Seattle) Base: 4 + Karma: 0 = 4 Pool: 9 Black Markets Base: 4 + Karma: 0 = 4 Pool: 9 Gangs Base: 4 + Karma: 0 = 4 Pool: 9 Security Procedures Base: 4 + Karma: 0 = 4 Pool: 7 Shadow Community Base: 4 + Karma: 0 = 4 Pool: 9 Syndicates Base: 4 + Karma: 0 = 6 Pool: 9 Underworld Base: 4 + Karma: 0 = 4 Pool: 9 == Qualities == Adept Alibi First Impression Low-Light Vision Made Man School of Hard Knocks Code of Honor (Omerta) Phobia (Uncommon, Mild, Heights) == Powers == Authoritative Tone (2) Commanding Voice Cool Resolve (3) Kinesics (3) Linguistics == Lifestyle == Shabby Apartment (Low) 1 Months == Armor == Mortimer of London: Berwick Suit 9 -Custom Fit -Concealability -Nonconductive (1) Mortimer of London: Argentum Coat 4 -Custom Fit (Stacked) -Concealability Armored Jacket 12 -Nonconductive (1) Cheap Clothing (20¥) == Weapons == Ares Predator V + Concealed Quick-Draw Holster + Smartgun System, Internal Pool: 9 (11) Accuracy: 5 (7) DV: 8P AP: -1 RC: -- Unarmed Attack Pool: 5 Accuracy: 5 DV: 2S AP: - RC: 2 == Commlink == Meta Link (ATT: 0, SLZ: 0, DP: 1, FWL: 1) == Gear: Equipped == Ammo: Regular Ammo (Heavy Pistols) x20 Fake SIN (Adrian Forrest) Rating 4 + Fake License (Firearms License) Rating 4 + Fake License (Adept License) Rating 4 + Fake License (Concealed Carry Permit) Rating 4 Contacts Rating 2 + Image Link + Smartlink Earbuds Rating 1 + Select Sound Filter (1) == Contacts == Johnny 9 Fingers (Fixer), Seattle (Connection: 3, Loyalty: 2) Janice O'Brien (Street Doc), Renton (Connection: 3, Loyalty: 4) Vigo Blascowicz (Talismonger), Barrens (Connection: 1, Loyalty: 2) "The Eagle" (Infobroker), Seattle (Connection: 3, Loyalty: 2) Gianelli Mafia (Crime Syndicate), Seattle (Connection: 4, Loyalty: 3) Dachshundofdoom fucked around with this message at 09:55 on Dec 18, 2017 |

No thanks for the input I asked for it lol. I was watching a youtube video fo a 1v1 game recently and in character gen the player chose knowledge of History, and was speaking with this bullshit Irish accent during the game. So at some point in the first session the GM had a character throw him a bag of runes that looked like they were of European origin and asked him if he knew anything about that, and the guy just goes "uhhhh no I don't think so". My take away was maybe you shouldn't roll play as something you don't know anything about.

Passiflora An Ex-Amazonian volunteer revolutionary with a whole commune of spirits backing her up who has come to Seattle FOR REVENGE! Philomena Aubin is the kind of elf who names herself after a flower in the Amazon Rainforest, so she's predictably a former volunteer soldier there. As an old-fashioned French revolutionary by way of Haiti, she's happy to talk at length about the "corruption of the revolutionary spirit of the French people by its secret entitled masters" and "the poisonous, grasping expansionism of the ruling classes of Aztlan" -- preferable while she cuts one of the aforementioned parties in half. She'll kill them some other way, too, but she's almost as partial to swords as the spirits hanging around her are, and those guys can get pretty scary when they get going. On more than one occasion Passiflora single-handedly wiped out an Aztlaner patrol, and served on teams to take out some of their more elite soldiers too -- Jaguar Warriors are tough. She draws the line at civilians, though, and is uncomfortably aware that some of her comrades were willing to go that far. For reasons she won't go into in much depth but definitely involve a recently promoted Aztechnology exec and a dead Amazonian patrol, Passiflora has started running in Seattle. It just so happens that a friend of hers from the service has set up shop as an ID broker here. Contacts: Montgomery Quiros An SSC national and shaman with deep connections to their magical groups. Passiflora and Monty (as she insists on calling him) met through their spiritual connections and have been getting along decently ever since. They often help each other out and he's sympathetic to her anti-corporate-and-authroity position. Astrid Pearson Astrid is a former Amazonian military intelligence officer who's gone further afield with the war cooling down. She and Passiflora know each other from the war, and it was Astrid who suggested she come to Seattle. Iceberg A feeelance hacker and secret seller who Passiflora has yet to meet in person. Iceberg knows a good customer when he(or she, or possible it) sees one, and since Passiflora is the kind of person who has trouble doing more than a google search, she definitely qualifies. Blackjack An utterly amoral gunrunner. Blackjack and Passiflora know each other from some weapons deals during the War. He's a good weapons source, but he doesn't really like anyone. Blackjack was her ride into the city, and his frankly ruinous rates are the main reason she's here with nothing but the blade on her back. quote:== Personal Data == wiegieman fucked around with this message at 07:12 on Nov 26, 2017 |

Mr. Ice A former Cutters ganger whose killed his way out of the Barrens and never looked back, Mr. Ice developed his skill as a gunner and a wheelman on the streets of Redmond. Currently he works a couple of hours a day for a upscale car service called "Whip-It." It's a catchy name but also covers how guys like Ice get their corporate clientele moved all over Seattle in comfort and at extremely illegal speeds. After his 4 hours for the day are up, Ice is hitting the shadows to make a little extra to keep him comfortable in his Bellevue apartment, and pay for cyberware mods. He's a solid driver for a runner team and he doesn't shirk from brawling with his AK-97 either. "Ducky" Anne Cohver There's taking a hit and then there's taking a hit. Ducky had proved herself over the years to the Red Hot Nukes in a variety of ways; being a friendly face who could pull off a deal, a gunhand when things went wrong, and demolitions when things went REALLY wrong, opens up a lot of opportunities. She's replaced several lost pieces over the years, as explosives are not a skill where you can fake it until you make it. Nowadays she's pretty augged up, as taking bullets and shrugging off bombs is not for the faint of heart. Ducky wants nice, expensive things, and also to watch things go boom, but especially for her worthless brother to move out into his own place. Contacts: Sarah Stiches(4/3) - Reputed to be a doc wagon EMT until collapsing from a long haul crash while trying to resuscitate a corp exec, Sarah operates a fairly nice clinic out of the barrens. Despite being a human, the Nukes make sure to take care of her because as previously stated, when your shtick is hi-explosives, replacement parts are invaluable. Grinder(4/3) - The leader of the Red Hot Nukes, Ducky passed her initiation test via disarming one of his special devices. She's proven herself loyal and he considers her one of the more useful assets, as grumpy, bomb toting dwarves benefit from a qualified face. Drake Salazar(2/2) - Owner of the Rat Race, a troll/ork bar. Ducky is one of the few non-trogs welcome, as she can put away Hurlg with the best of them. She's occasionally scheduled meets there, and the pub food is rumored to be only partially devil-rat. quote:== Personal Data == Ronwayne fucked around with this message at 07:18 on Dec 3, 2017 |

“Hmm…” A carefully placed *donk* with her axe echos in the otherwise empty building. “Right, yeah.” There’s a couple more solid wacks on the wall, the plaster cracking in two and falling off. “I see.” Conclusion reached, Toro clips her foci back to her belt and pulls a scrap splinter of wood and a sharpie out of her pocket. With a couple of quick scribbles she notes on it ‘big earth spirit - bad’. On a philosophical level, having to sell her expert services wasn't something Toro had ever been a big fan of. Helping out the needy from the shrine? Sure, that she could do. But selling out and working for fat cat corp types? That was grating. But she was also painfully aware that having more than no money at all in her back pocket tended to be a good thing. She always had money she needed to pay back to somebody somewhere. And when the work is such a softball job like this? Not even Dragonslayer could begrudge her for taking it on. Even though she finished assensing the building early, the man was already waiting for her in the mostly dead nightclub. “The elf told me I would be meeting a professional." This client, a well trimmed ork stuffed into a suit, questioned as his eyes looked over the supposed spirit specialist. Toro, complete with ill-fitting jacket and a bright red motorcycle helmet, just nods at the understandable concern like she genuinely cared. "Professional exorcist." She corrects the man, sitting herself down in a seat next to the ork. The axe handle dangling off her belt clatters against the chair legs and makes quite the racket. She doesn't bother waiting for it to stop. "And I don't know how many exorcists you've dealt with, but I know them all." She was lying, but she probably knew enough for the point she wanted to make. "You don't want to see how those fly-by-night operators do. No interest in repeat business, those types. It's messy stuff." As the ork doesn't look impressed, Toro presses on. "I'm a local, I've got my own backyard here to think about here. I wouldn't go around just getting ghosts angry for the hell of it, they'd upset my shrine and all of that. Terrible for the qi." And nothing. It was clear that this ork had little time for the finer points of spiritual world. Which worked for Toro, the money still paid the same. "Okay, so…" She digs about in her pocket, yanking out the shard of wood. "That building? Totally haunted. Got a pretty mean looking earth spirit in there." For the first time, the ork looks mildly interested. "And it's still there! You aren't paying me enough to go chop its head off. But here." Toro tosses the wood orkways. "Crack that in half next time there's an earthquake or whatever, it'll take care of the spirit." She wiggles her fingers in front of her face. "Magic~" After an slightly-too-long silence, the ork grunts and gingerly takes the ema. "I left your payment with the elf." Is all he says before making his leave. "Kits has it? drat. Last I'll ever hear of that." Sighing, Toro flips up her visor and waves at the bartender for a drink. She continues to pretend Toro isn't at the bar. pre:== Personal Data == Street Name: Toro Movement: 4/8 (2m/hit) Swim: 3 (1m/hit) Karma: 0 Street Cred: 0 Notoriety: 1 Public Awareness: 0 Human Female Age: 32 Height: 6ft Weight: 150 Composure: 11 Judge Intentions: 11 Lift/Carry: 5 (30 kg/20 kg) Memory: 7 Nuyen: 300¥ == Priorities == Metatype: E,0 Attributes: B,3 Special: A,4 Skills: C,2 Resources: D,1 == Attributes == BOD: 3 AGI: 2 REA: 3 STR: 2 CHA: 6 INT: 5 LOG: 2 WIL: 5 EDG: 2 MAG: 7 == Derived Attributes == Essence: 6 Initiative: 8 +1d6 Rigger Initiative: 8 +1d6 Astral Initiative: 10 +3d6 Matrix AR: 8 +1d6 Matrix Cold: 5 + DP +3d6 Matrix Hot: 5 + DP +4d6 Physical Damage Track: 10 Stun Damage Track: 11 == Limits == Physical: 4 Mental: 5 Social: 8 Astral: 8 == Active Skills == Alchemy (Combat) Base: 6 Pool: 13 (15) Assensing Base: 2 Pool: 7 Astral Combat ([Weapon Focus Type]) Base: 6 Pool: 11 (13) Banishing Base: 3 Pool: 10 Con (Fast Talk) Base: 2 Pool: 10 (12) Counterspelling Base: 6 Pool: 13 Etiquette Base: 2 Pool: 8 Leadership Base: 2 Pool: 8 Negotiation Base: 2 Pool: 8 Perception Base: 0 Pool: 6 Spellcasting (Combat) Base: 6 Pool: 13 (15) Summoning Base: 3 Pool: 10 == Knowledge Skills == Bars and Clubs (Awakened) Base: 3 Pool: 8 (10) Magical Theory (Street) Base: 5 Pool: 10 Spirits Base: 5 Pool: 7 == Contacts == "Kitsune" Takeuchi; Touristville; Talismonger (2, 3) Early Bird; In and out of the Barrens; Talislegger (4, 4) Peggy Potts; The Pale Alechemist; Bartender (3, 2) == Qualities == Exceptional Attribute Magician Mentor Spirit (Dragonslayer) Spirit Bane (Man) == Tradition == Shinto, Resist Drain with: WIL + CHA (11) == Spells == Fling DV: F-2 Heal DV: F-4 Hot Potato DV: F-3 Improved Invisibility DV: F-1 Levitate DV: F-2 Lightning Bolt DV: F-3 Makeover DV: F-3 Manabolt DV: F-3 Napalm (Limited) DV: F-2 Physical Barrier DV: F-1 Stunbolt DV: F-3 Trid Phantasm DV: F == Lifestyle == Low (Low) 1 Months == Armor == Armor Jacket 12 + Nonconductivity 1 Helmet 2 == Weapons == Combat Axe Pool: 1 Accuracy: 4 DV: 7P AP: -4 RC: 2 Unarmed Attack Pool: 1 Accuracy: 4 DV: 2S AP: - RC: 2 == Commlink == Microtronica Azteca Raptor (ATT: 0, SLZ: 0, DP: 2, FWL: 2) == Gear: Equipped == Fake SIN (Penelope Starr) Rating 4 + Fake License (Mage License) Rating 4 + Fake License (Exorcist License) Rating 4 + Fake License (Foci License) Rating 4 + Fake License (Driver's License) Rating 4 Napalm Fetish Periscope Reagents, per dram x20 Vault of Ages Rating 2 Weapon Focus (Combat Axe) Rating 3 == Vehicles == Dodge Scoot (Scooter) + Improved Economy + Sensor Array Rating 1 Shinto ghost buster, war mage, dragonslayer, help out the people because gently caress the corps, etc. Heavy on the alchemy and vault of ages to batman anything I need but magic. == Fetish Appearance == An old ema crudely whittled into the decapitated head of Kagu-tsuchi, a fire kami whose blood became all the volcanoes in Japan. Contacts Johnny 9 Fingers (Fixer), (Connection: 3, Loyalty: 2) Not every job is going to be a clean B&E, and a good fixer can tell that before any serious plans get laid down. Somewhere along the grapevine it was on the recommendation of Peggy that Johnny got in contact with Toro. The right set of offices got demolished in a glorious magical blaze, and the two have kept in touch whenever Johnny thinks a job suits Toro's skillset. She hasn't ben lead wrong by the fixer yet. Early Bird (Talislegger), In and out of the Barrens, (Connection: 4, Loyalty: 4) The rare and dangerous work of an exorcist calls for obscure and expensive magical materials every now and then , and there are times that Toro needs them sooner rather than later. That's when Early Bird gets a call. He's an Elf from Tir Tairngire who found Seattle more accommodating to his entrepreneurial spirit than back home. Wanton plundering from spirits and sacred sites isn't much liked there, go figure. But their loss is Toro's gain, and their mutual occupations of banishing spirits saw them cross paths enough to get well acquainted. Peggy Potts (Bartender), The Pale Alechemist, (Connection: 3, Loyalty: 2) When you frequent one particular bar long enough you're going to, one way or the other, ingratiate yourself with the drink slinger behind the bar. It's not like she is a well loved face in the drinking hole or anything, she just ended up there often enough that sometimes people came looking for her there. Mostly for good things over the bad. And with how much Peggy charges as a finders fee from whoever comes looking to leave a message for Toro, she come out ahead most times. "Kitsune" Takeuchi (Talismonger), Touristville, (Connection: 2, Loyalty: 3) There's a narrow little cobblestone road that leads off the big market in Touristville; it's easy to identify by virtue of being the only area that's not saturated by neon lights. Once past the buildings, it opens up into a cozy little Shinto shrine complex, complete with a garden. It's a miracle that anything can grow back there, really. Toro volunteers as an attendant there when there's time in between work. She plays a dual role for Toro. She is the friendly face that helps connect needy people with the magical ema Toro crafts in her free time, for small nominal donations to the shrine. She'd much rather somebody get better off of her healing ema than have to get fleeced through a DocWagon charge. And Kits also keeps an eye on when local thugs get too big for their boots and start moving in on the shrine. It never takes long for those types to get pointed out to Toro, and then for those types to back off as fast as their burnt legs can carry them. He grew up in the Salish but was not gifted with magical talents which left him feeling like he didn't fit into tribal life. Shorter and less coordianted than other members of the tribe, he never became a hunter and instead spent his time dreaming about what lie beyond his boring and mundane existence. As soon as he was able he left for Seattle at the young age of 16. In the city he discovered technology and fell in love instantly. Being homeless and broke he searched for other Native outcasts and was able to scrape togeather a living doing odd jobs and washing dishes. Eventually he used his meager earnings to buy a deck and start learning about the matrix. Through AR and VR he was able to experience what he had been missing out on back in Salish, and dove whole heartedly into learning all he could about the matrix. Eventualy develping into a decent decker, Duwami started to take on hacking jobs to buy more expensive gear and body modifications. He also developed an addicition to BTL's that nearly put him out on the street again. He was able to kick the habit however and now does hacking jobs to feed his less destructive AR/VR game adiction. == Concept == Dwarf Decker, Native American from Salish Bloodyshinta1 fucked around with this message at 07:43 on Dec 4, 2017 |

Didn't mean nothin' to Aleksei, he died before his son even learned to walk. There were some perks though, Gregori - now the current underboss in Auburn - took care of him and his mom. Aleksei grew up with Gregori's twin sons Vigo and Sasha. It wasn't a bad life. Aleksei was given the opportunity to indulge his interests in chemistry and medicine. This later led to his second love - pharmaceuticals. Over time Aleksei crafted a role for himself as the mob's local Doc on call and drug expert. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. Roughly two years back the twins celebrated their 25th birthday. The party would have been legendary if not for the fact that the brothers both managed to OD that night. Not content with the party favors Doc had provided, they scored some betameth from who knows where cut with who knows what. Between that and the drug cocktail they already had in their system, they didn't stand a chance. Gregori blamed Doc of course. Aleksei probably wouldn't even be alive if a local lieutenant didn't owe him in a big way. He never did find out if Vitali talked Gregori down or just salvaged what he could afterwards. All Aleksei knows is he woke up in a dingy street doc's workshop half dead with all his 'ware replaced with drek that barely functioned and a note that said "We're even." So now he's stuck in the rear end-end of Renton, practically the Barrens, trying to make ends meet as a itinerant street doc for anyone who can pay. Recently he's turned to running the odd job in an attempt to finally get a step ahead. Why call a Doc after the run when you can bring one with you right?
