the other redhead was pressured to have sex with a potential client, which she did in exchange for a partnership stake, even though she is integral to the business and just as/more capable than the male partners. she was then forced out of the company that purchased her company purely because of sexism.

Personally I liked that black bunny girl that Lane dated for a bit til his Hitler dad popped up.

Actually, I don't recall Lane having any hugely lovely opinions on the show and he beat the crap out of Pete so he's ok in my book.

Arguably the best scene is where Lane and Don get drunk on New Year's Day to commiserate their divorces. Lane shouts in fake Japanese at a woman in a movie theater, makes a complete horses rear end of himself at dinner and is treated to a prostitute way too attractive to him by don.

Working in advertising is soul crushing fun. And it’s incredible how every agency has a Roger, my ex-boss is literally a carbon copy. Also Creative is spot on in the sense they are bunch of humorless assholes who hate what they do but can’t stop doing it.

They got a lot of things right : pitch meetings, media being treated like the red headed stepchild, dumb clients turning down ideas because of personal reasons, etc.

Tldr: A good show.

Do they ever show Joan's husband on the show? Only watched a few episodes/clips, but I'm pretty curious who managed to put a ring on Tits McGee since they bill her as the de-facto office babe in the series

Oh no
They never showed her first husband (she was divorced at the beginning), but her second failed marriage was pretty prominent in a season or two. Her second husband was a young doctor who wasn’t going to make the cut (hah!) as a surgeon so he volunteered for the Army. Then volunteered for a second tour.

Oh, right! For some reason I thought it was the husband's kid, but you're correct it was Roger's. Haven't watched since it was airing. Might be time to watch again.
