Many years ago now, in a chapter of my life that I have since closed and moved on from, I worked as a rent boy in Vancouver. It has taken me some time to come to terms with my feelings aboot it all. I feel that I should feel ashamed, rather than having any real regret. A sort of reverse social scorn. The truth is, I look back fondly on some of my client "interactions". Of course, not every john was someone special - it was a job after all - but in any job, enjoyment can be found. So my feelings about this period of my youth are still complex. I've never really spoken about them before, except to my psychiatrist. Not even to my wife. I have trouble organising them into any real order. That's why I wanted to respond to your questions, to guide my recount of my experiences. I don't know where to begin, but if I take it question by question, I should be able to make some coherent sense of it. And yes, I did mention this idea to my shrink, and she thought it could be helpful. If my feelings about this change, just to warn you, I might close the thread. Unless you're a superstar, you'll get paid $500-1,000 per porn scene and even fairly popular porn actors are going to have a hard time booking more than a dozen or so total per year. It's not something you can make a living doing unless you're absolute top-tier and in high demand. However, it does get you a lot of publicity and social media attention. A few decent porn scenes gets your name out there and all of a sudden you can book a lot more escort jobs and gogo dancing at clubs. Dancing and escorting is a lot more reliable, steady work than porn. Of course, it's way easier to get into porn if you're near a major filming location. OP is in Vancouver and afaik that's not really a porn production hub. If you're in Los Angeles or San Diego it's very easy to do some local porn shoots and that will kickstart your escort/dancing career.
