I was walking home from a night out walking past all these poo poo 'Irish' bars and hearing the poo poo covers bands playing with ladies struggling to hold their glasses of wine and guys in terrible jeans and popped collars dancing and thought if I was gonna do that what songs should I learn to start off. Maybe could make a couple of bucks and maybe some lady who wants to date a musician might take a shining to me.

Four Seasons - Oh What a Night
Proclaimers - Five Hundred Miles
Chumbawumba - Tubthumping

Do you like music? Are you a fan of one band? What if you had the talent, ability, looks, and skill to have a band based on someone else's music? In this thread, we come up with the names of our cover bands based on the covered band's songs. It could be a greatest hit, it could be a lesser-known gem, or it could be something that the band is famous for. I'll start us off!

Queens of the Stone Age-The 3s and 7s
Simon and Garfunkel-The Dangling Conversation
Limp Bizkit-One Of Those Gays
Eagles of Death Metal-Terrorist Target Practice

Why did you guys start a cover band thread about an hour apart?

SIDS Vicious

Probably because the one OP made a thread about which songs their cover band would play and the other is about what the name of the cover bands would be and in the one that was first posted it was suggested they open this second one.

I have a friend who is an electronic musician, and to troll me, he did a remixed version of Our House by Madness in witch house-style (I had recently been introduced to the genre by a thread here, and was in love with it) that he released for free (because it's unlicensed) called "Which House".

Does that count as a cover?

Was it bluegrass versions of the songs? If so I've listened to them, they're pretty good for a novelty act like that, haven't seen them live though.

Presumably Springsteen was covering Steppenwolf's song.

To contribute: that parody version of AC/DC's Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, entitled "Dirty Deeds Done With Sheep."

You didn't specify that you'd be asked back to the venue to play a second time.
