There's a thread for video game music, but this is a thread for video game music remixes or covers.

A few things, Please limit embedded videos to one per post at maximum, much more than 40 embeds per page can cause browsers to chug or crash outright. Pick the one you'd like people to click on the most, then link to any others without embedding them.

If you're not linking to an artist's own youtube video, please provide a source. If you don't know the source, that's fine, but any help provided is welcome.

To start, here's one of my favorite youtube musician's newest covers: Courtney Gears(Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal) by GAMETAL, complete with great vocals.

No Sense Running is a super good rendition of an already really good theme, yeah. Could do without the dubstep but eh, it's like 90% good so I'll give the bad bits a pass.

This is one of my favorite remixes of all time. It's been a constant in my playlists for nearly two decades. It's an over eight and a half minute remix of the title theme to Megaman 3, a theme that is only 53 seconds long. But Disco Dan turned it into a masterfully done soothing, soft trance/techno mix, especially considering the high point of publicly-available music software at the time was, like, the original Fruityloops. I absolutely adore it. I'd also love to see it and maybe some other ancient OC Remixes redone with modern tools, just to see how it'd turn out.

Can't go wrong with Megaman remixes - here's Storm Eagle's theme remixed so it's much more badass.

Super Buck 2 by Estradasphere probably is probably my favorite reimagining of a theme song, pushing the SMB2 theme right into the genre of Jazz:

On a similar note. Super Mario's Sleigh Ride by The OneUps always gets a few listens from me round the holidays.

Super Buck Jazz(that's what it used to be called, dunno when they changed it to Super Buck 2) is a really good one, that's stayed in my music folders forever too. There's a handful of OC Remixes that have always stood the test of time for me, Blue Lightning, Super Buck Jazz, and this one, a synth rock medley of the opening stage, Storm Eagle, and Spark Mandrill stages from Megaman X, called Brainsick Metal.

It's extremely good. I would pay quite a bit of money to have some professionals(youtube artists like Gametal etc) do a real instrument cover, if that were even possible with the speed some of it gets. I love the synthiness of it, sure, but it definitely shows its age a bit as it is from early 2002 and even though Protricity is/was one of the best remixers on OCR, his tools were still clearly limited. That being said, the entire Spark Mandrill sequence, from the very end of the Storm Eagle part at 3:58 to the finish, is some legendary stuff.

thanks, I hate it

someone swapped the 2nd and 4th beats in MEGALOVANIA around and it sounds extremely good for the most part, with a few parts that get a bit fucky in the middle/end but that first 30 seconds is flawless
