Problem description: Microsoft Internet Explorer/Edge both display "Hmmm... can't reach this page"

Attempted fixes: Restarted, reset DNS stuff to default, reinstalled applications, made sure IPv6 was enabled, ran troubleshooter. IT guy at work can't figure it out either.

Recent changes: None other than standard windows 10 updates. I changed a couple things in the registry, one to make an excel addin launch on start up and the other to allow remote access to an accounting system that wouldn't work under default. Neither of these seemed to trigger anything, and the excel one I've done for a couple coworkers with no adverse effects.

Operating system: Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit.

System specs: Dell Inc. Latitude E5570, Intel Core i7 6600U CPU @2.6GHZ, 16 GB ram, no dedicated graphics, 512GB SSD, can provide more if needed. No one else has this problem at work though, and we have identical systems.

Location: USA

Problem has been going for like 6 months. Chrome, firefox, internet in general all work fine. I've tried everything I can find on the internet. No other network connectivity issues. It appears to be some sort of error in my windows build. I've let it stew for a long time because I just use chrome anyway and our IT guy is a pain in the rear end guy to deal with, but we have some software that works only with IE or edge, and there are some portals to other accounting systems I need to log into that don't like Chrome. Something came up this week where I absolutely need it to work now but don't want to wipe my computer and start over.

Is it possible to do a system restore going back to before this issue was happening?

Are you a local admin?

If so you can attempt a repair of edge or a reinstall. Here are some instructions:

It was probably caused by a bad update to the browser in one of the biannual feature packs. If those don't help I can give you some options for more invasive fixes.

Tried both of these, no luck :( I'm willing to try invasive - at this point I can't think of anything else other than to wipe my computer.

Edit: I just ended up reinstalling windows, thanks for your help though!
